An automated pavement repair vehicle includes a vehicle and its various computer-controlled subsystems. The various subsystems, including a vacuum system, heating system and spray patch system, for completing pavement repair, are located on the frame and rear of the truck. A robotic cell at the rear of the truck includes an assembly of retractable doors. The doors are lowered around the pothole to allow control of ambient conditions during the pavement repair procedure.

A dual range infinitely variable transmission utilizes a continuously variable speed mechanism in conjunction with a fixed ratio speed mechanism to provide two power paths from the input to the rotatable output. A jaw clutch is utilized to switch between the high range and low range of the transmission. A reaction type clutch is utilized to provide a positive neutral for the transmission.

An offset three-gear, two-system pump includes first, second, and third overlapping chambers. First inlet and low-pressure outlet ports communicate with the first and second chambers, and second inlet and high-pressure pressure outlet ports communicate with the first and third chambers. The first chamber has a short wall portion extending from the low-pressure outlet port to the second inlet port, and a long wall portion extending from the high-pressure outlet port to the first inlet port. First, second, and third gears are respectively rotatable in the chambers. The first and second gears form a low-pressure gear set, and the first and third gears form a high-pressure gear set. A small number of first gear teeth are cooperable with the short wall portion and a large number of first gear teeth are cooperable with the long wall portion to effect sealing against leakage from the pressure ports to the inlet ports.

A dual wet output clutch for a continuously variable transmission which acts as a starting clutch upon a signal from a throttle induced hydraulic fluid supply to connect the transmission with the vehicle wheels and replaces a mechanical forward-neutral-reverse selection by hydraulic actuation of one of the dual clutches to provide forward or reverse power. Also a secondary mechanism is utilized with the reverse gear to deactivate the reverse clutch in the forward mode and reduce drag loss.

A continuously variable transmission of the expansible frusto-conical pulley type having fluid expansion chambers controlling expansion and contraction of the V-groove includes a fluid control circuit having a ratio control pressure regulator valve, a ratio relief valve connected across the ratio control regulator valve, providing for rapid down shift of the pulley combination while maintaining non-slip engagement between pulley discs and a flexible transmission band of trapezoidal cross section.

A folding bicycle assembly generally having a front and rear subassembly which pivot about a sprocket hub to nest with each other to provide a compact assembly for storage or transfer. The bicycle assembly utilizes wheels of a standard size and is equipped with pedals and handle bars that fold to further minimize the size of the folded assembly.

A flow control valve in fluid communication with a variable orifice which is utilized to control speed of a fluid motor, the valve providing a constant pressure drop across the variable orifice whereby consistent control of speed of the motor may be maintained.

An improved accessory drive which employs the crankshaft and camshaft of an internal combustion engine to operate, at different times, the accessory drive system for the engine; the camshaft rotating at exactly 50% of the speed of the crankshaft. A clutching system disconnects the crankshaft from the accessory drive system at a predetermined speed of rotation to allow the slower camshaft to assume activation of the accessory drive system.
