A moveable toy (10) consisting of a base (12) and a motorized vehicle (14). The base includes a track (46) having a central groove (50) ending in openings (54) at either end. The track includes teeth (48) which cooperate with a drive gear (44) held in the vehicle to drive the vehicle along the track. Rotors (56) having notches (58) on the top surface are rotatably held in openings at each end of the central groove in the track. Upon actuation, the vehicle travels along the track until it arrives at either end of the track, where the vehicle rotates the base to allow the vehicle to continue along the track end for further movement of the toy in the same direction.

Moveable toy

A toy trap door mechanism is disclosed which includes a trap door pivotably mounted within and flush to a panel which simulates the floor of a castle. A chair in the shape of a throne is rotatably mounted to the floor in the vicinity of the trap door. An actuating lever is pivotably mounted to the underside of the floor and is operatively coupled to both the chair and the trap door. When the chair is rotated from a first position facing an observer to a second position facing the trap door, the lever unlatches the trap door which swings open. Holding the trap door in the closed position and rotating the chair to the first position resets the mechanism.

Toy trap door mechanism

A crib toy having a shaped outer shell with a downward facing U-shaped aperture adapted to fit over a crib rail. The shell houses an automatic reversing mechanism which drives an output roller positioned in the aperture for moving the toy back and forth along the rail. In a preferred embodiment, the reversing mechanism includes a motor which rotates first and second cam surfaces at a first speed and first and second cam followers at a second speed causing the cam followers to drive first and second gears to operate the output roller. The preferred embodiment combines a music box with the reversing mechanism to provide a synthesis of music and movement for a child.

Direction reversing crib toy

A toy vehicle and housing set, the toy vehicle having a body with a shell member positionable thereover, the shell member being configured for simulating a body of another type vehicle. The housing has a track section for traversal of the vehicle thereover and sidewalls generally perpendicular to the track section, the shell member and housing sidewalls having coacting portions for removing the shell member from the vehicle during traversal of the vehicle therethrough. The housing contains a booster for accelerating the vehicle from the exit end thereof.

Toy vehicle and housing set

A toy vehicle having an inertia motor and a wheel adapted to be driven thereby, the vehicle having a drive gear operatively connected to the inertia motor, the periphery of the gear extending partially below the surface of the vehicle. A housing in the form of a fire station or the like is provided with a simulated chimney, which has a rack on the surface thereof within the housing, the chimney being depressible to operate a pinion carrying an enlarged diameter drum, having one end of a strap secured thereto for winding around the drum. The housing is provided with a ramp surface adapted for supporting the vehicle, the ramp being provided with a rotatably mounted hollow shaft having a power gear for engaging the drive gear within the vehicle, the power gear having a coil spring wound about a rod on the axis thereof with the outer end of the hollow shaft being configured to provide a small diameter drum having the other end of the strap means secured thereto. Restraining means are provided for engaging the vehicle so that upon depression of the rack the power gear is maintained in engagement with the drive gear, the power gear ceasing rotation when the rack is depressed to its extreme position whereby the inertia motor is energized and the vehicle leaves the housing.

Toy vehicle with housing

A sewing machine having a cartridge containing a spool of thread and a pre-threaded needle mounted inside of the head, the cartridge having the lower end thereof terminating in proximity to the fabric to be worked upon. The cartridge is provided with integral means for receiving a spool carrying ribbon-like material, the cartridge having a channel means integral therewith adjacent the aperture of the cartridge through which the needle passes, the spool of ribbon being so mounted, and the channel so configured, that the natural unwinding tendency of the ribbon automatically positions the ribbon on the fabric in the path of the needle.
