The reel assembly further includes a device mounting assembly movably coupled to the reel arm and configured to support a device that is configured to monitor a terrain feature. The device mounting assembly is configured to move between an extended position and a retracted position relative to the frame to move the device between a first position corresponding to the extended position of the device mounting assembly and a second position corresponding to the retracted position of the device mounting assembly. The device mounting assembly is configured to enable the device to monitor the terrain feature at the first position and the second position.

A system for controlling harvesting implement operation of an agricultural harvester includes a harvesting implement defining a longitudinal axis extending between a forward end of the harvesting implement and an aft end of the harvesting implement. The harvesting implement is configured to be coupled to the agricultural harvester. Moreover, the harvesting implement includes a frame, a reel, and a cutter bar. A controller is configured to receive a first input indicating that a harvesting operation has ceased. Furthermore, the controller is configured to initiate a first adjustment to at least one of a fore/aft tilt angle defined between the longitudinal axis of the harvesting implement and a field surface, a position of the reel relative to the frame, or a position of the cutter bar relative to the frame upon receipt of the first input.

System and method for controlling harvesting implement operation of an agricultural harvester when a harvesting operation ceases

A work vehicle system includes a work vehicle controller configured to output a control signal indicative of instructions to move a feeder house based at least in part on at least one header parameter. The work vehicle controller is configured to output the control signal to a network. The work vehicle also includes an agricultural header controller configured to receive the control signal and control movement of the feeder house based at least in part on the control signal. Further, the work vehicle includes a wing controller configured to receive the at least one header parameter from the network and output a wing control signal indicative of instructions to move a wing based at least in part on the at least one header parameter. The wing is coupled to a center section.

System for setting parameters for a multi-segment agricultural header

A header of a harvester includes a first header segment comprising a cutter bar configured to cut crops, and a first portion of a conveyor assembly. The header additionally includes a center section including a second portion of the conveyor assembly. The center section is configured to receive cut crops from the first header segment via the first portion of the conveyor assembly. The header also includes a first ground engaging element configured to at least partially support a weight of the header, and a first sensor configured to output a signal indicative of a distance to ground. The header further includes a first actuator; and a control system comprising a processor configured to receive a sensor signal from the first sensor and to control the first actuator to adjust the first ground engaging element based on the sensor signal.

A reel assembly of an agricultural header includes a first arm configured to support a reel of the reel assembly and a first pivot joint configured to pivotally couple the first arm to a frame of the agricultural header. The first pivot joint is configured to enable the first arm to pivot about a first local lateral axis of the agricultural header and about a longitudinal axis of the agricultural header relative to the frame. In addition, the reel assembly includes a second arm configured to support the reel and a second pivot joint configured to pivotally couple the second arm to the frame. The second pivot joint is configured to enable the second arm to pivot about a second local lateral axis of the agricultural header relative to the frame and to substantially block pivoting of the second arm about the longitudinal axis relative to the frame.

A header of an agricultural harvester is provided. The header includes a frame having a centerline defining a first side and a second side of the frame. A first portion of either the first side or the second side of the frame has a first trapezoidal profile that includes a first pair of legs that run along a longitudinal axis of the frame and a first pair of bases that form a height of the frame. The first pair of legs include a first top leg and a first bottom leg, and the first bottom leg is angled toward the longitudinal axis.

A header of a combine harvester includes a belt conveyor configured to direct a movement of harvested crop material toward a feederhouse of the combine harvester. The belt conveyor is located adjacent an inlet of the feederhouse. The belt conveyor includes at least one protrusion extending radially from the belt conveyor that helps direct movement of harvested crop material toward the feederhouse.

An agricultural system includes a controller comprising a memory and a processor, wherein the controller is configured to receive data from a first and second sensor, each of which are mounted on an agricultural header and configured to output data indicative of one-dimensional (1D) distances. The controller is configured to determine a first horizontal distance from the first sensor to a first plant stalk and a second horizontal distance from the second sensor to a second plant stalk based on the 1D distance data. The controller is also configured to control a steering system of the agricultural system to adjust a position of the agricultural header relative to the first and second plant stalks based on a difference between the first horizontal distance and the second horizontal distance.

An agricultural system that includes a cylinder and a rod that moves axially in and out of the cylinder to raise and lower a header. A cylinder lock system controls movement of the rod. The cylinder lock system includes a cap-end fixture that couples to the cylinder and receives the rod. A rod-end fixture couples to an end of the rod. The system includes a lock piston. The lock piston includes a protrusion. The lock piston rotates about the rod and selectively couples the protrusion to the cap-end fixture to lock and unlock the rod-end fixture to the cap-end fixture.

A clean out system of a header for an agricultural vehicle. The header includes a frame with a floor having at least one cutout for allowing an unwanted material to pass therethrough. The clean out system includes at least one door configured for pivotally connecting to the floor and selectively engaging with the at least one cutout, a latching mechanism connected to the at least one door and configured for securing the at least one door to the frame, and at least one actuating member operably connected to the at least one door and configured for selectively latching the latching mechanism and pivoting the at least one door in between an open position and a closed position.

The header frame includes a rigid portion, a first conformable portion flexibly coupled to the rigid portion by a first resilient material that allows at least about 1.5&#xb0; of reversible deflection, and a second conformable portion flexibly coupled to the rigid portion by a second resilient material that allows at least about 1.5&#xb0; of reversible deflection.

A header for an agricultural vehicle includes: a header frame; a flexible cutter supported by the header frame and including a plurality of cutting edges; a reel including a plurality of reel sections movably supported by the header frame, each of the reel sections including a plurality of tines and being independently movable from the other reel sections; and at least one rigid link connecting the flexible cutter to one of the reel sections, the at least one rigid link being configured to transmit flexing forces acting on the flexible cutter to the connected one reel section such that a substantially constant separation is maintained between the flexible cutter and the connected one reel section.

A crop ramp for use in a combine header is provided. The crop ramp includes a flat section, a curved section, and a flange. The flat section facilitates coupling the crop ramp to a cutterbar of the combine header. The curved section extends from the flat section. The curved section is configured to facilitate transfer of crop to a belt system of the combine header. The crop is transferred in a first direction defined from the flat section to the curved section. The flange extends from the curved section. The flange is configured to hover above the belt system of the combine header to prevent dirt from flowing in a second direction which is opposite to the first direction.

A locking mechanism for an agricultural header includes a rod configured to extend laterally along the agricultural header and a cam coupled to the rod and configured to engage a respective arm of the agricultural header. The arm is configured to support a cutter bar assembly of the agricultural header, and the arm is configured to rotate relative to a frame of the agricultural header. The rod is configured to rotate in a first direction to a first orientation to engage the cam with the arm to block rotation of the arm relative to the frame, and the rod is configured to rotate in a second direction, opposite the first direction, to a second orientation to disengage the cam from the arm to enable rotation of the arm relative to the frame.
