The subject embodiments are directed to a system to allow an uninterrupted flow of a coil welding wire from one container to another container, the coil of welding wire including a coil top and a coil bottom. Each container includes at least one vertically extending side wall, a closed bottom, a top opening for removing the welding wire and a wire coil receiving cavity within the outer packaging for receiving the wire coil, the feeding end and the trailing end being positionable near the top opening. A wire retaining ring is disposed on the coil top in the container and another said container, the wire retaining ring includes a slot that extends radially from a center of the coil to allow the trailing end of the coil to be drawn at a location away from the center of the coil.

Wire retaining ring for a welding system

The subject embodiments are directed to a wire packaging system for a coil of welding wire defining a bore, the system including a container adapted to receive the coil therein, the container having a base; a wire retainer having a base portion adapted to overlie the coil, the base portion defining an aperture adapted to overlie the bore of the coil; the base portion including a first support and a second support located on opposite sides of the aperture; each support extending upward from the base portion; a hold down assembly including a restraint supported near the base of the container and extending upward through the aperture to attach to a hold down member, the hold down member having first and second ends engageable with the first and second supports and the restraint adapted to apply a compressive force to the supports via attachment of the restraint to the hold down member.

Wire retaining ring for endless bulk mig wire boxes

The present invention includes a mountable holster for a package of stick electrodes and methods for mounting electrodes to an operator. In a particular embodiment, a mountable holster includes an electrode storage cavity extending longitudinally between a top receiving end and a bottom retaining end, a first surrounding member extending laterally about a perimeter of the electrode storage cavity, the first surrounding member forming the top receiving end of the holster; a pair of vertical members each extending longitudinally about the cavity along opposite sides of the cavity between the first surrounding strap and the bottom retaining end; a leg band extending from the holster and configured to be secured about a leg of an operator; and, a belt mount extending from the holster and configured to be secured to a belt of the operator.

Holster for stick electrodes

A package for a compacted stack of stick electrodes comprising a thin metal foil encapsulating the stack with at least one axial seam and two end closures. One end closure includes a generally flat end portion extending from the stack and terminating in a sealed section of the metal foil spaced outwardly from the stack. The flat end portion including a structure to open the package for access to the stack of electrodes. This package is used in combination with an elongated shipping carton with a vision opening exposing a package therein.

Package for stick electrodes

A wire guiding device includes a base and a guide portion for streamlining the flow of coiled wire from a storage container. Side walls may be included to bridge the distance between the device and the storage container to prevent wire from rising upward around the outside of the wire guiding device. As the amount of wire in the bin decreases, the wire guiding device will float downward maintaining constant downward pressure on the coil of wire. Wire in the storage container will therefore be drawn out in a smooth manner limiting or substantially preventing tangles. Protrusions may also be formed around the peripheral edge of the wire guiding device for preventing the wire from rising up and over the wire guiding device.

Welding wire guide ring

A container for packaging and unwinding a welding wire comprising: a square cardboard box with four vertical side walls and four vertically extending corners, each defining an apex, a center cylindrical core, an inner vertically extending tubular liner with an octagonal outer shape having four outer walls, each generally overlying a side wall of the box and four alternate inner walls between two of the outer walls and spaced from the corner apexes to define generally triangular, vertical cavities with an at rest dimension from the apex of a corner to one of the alternate inner walls and a vertically extending corner reinforcing element in each of the cavities. The element in each cavity has a diagonal pressure rib extending from the apex to the inner wall.
