The disclosure concerns a seal, in particular a rod seal for sealing an axially movable rod in a guide cylinder, in particular a piston seal for a pneumatically, electrically or hydraulically driven coating agent pump for pumping coating agent, having an annular sealing element for sealingly resting on a circumferential surface of an axially movable rod, and having at least one elastic annular pretensioning element, the annular pretensioning element surrounding the annular sealing element radially on the outside and pretensioning it radially to the inside. The disclosure provides an annular seal base body which externally surrounds and holds the sealing element and the pretensioning element. In addition, the disclosure also comprises an inverted variant in which the seal is arranged in an annular groove in a lateral surface of a piston and lies sealingly against the cylinder running surface.

Seal

An application system component is provided in the form of a changeable application member such as a nozzle or a bell cup. The application system component includes a transponder for storing component data, from which the component data is readable, and a wear detection device for monitoring of the application system component. The wear detection device includes a wear mark and an optical detector.

Application system component with transponder and/or wear detection device

A sealing element, e.g., a sealing ring, is adapted to seal between two component sections and to be compressed by the two component sections in a groove that is provided in one of the two component sections and having a groove opening and a groove bottom. The sealing element comprises a profile which, in the non-compressed state, comprises different profile heights and at least two outer surfaces. The profile is deformable in the compressed state such that it extends with at least one of its side sections into the groove opening (N&#xd6;) and thereby possibly partially closes the groove opening.

Sealing element

The invention relates to a gear wheel pump with two meshing gear wheels which are rotatably mounted within a pump housing by means of a driven driveshaft and a crankshaft journal and which form a pumping channel system between a pump inlet and a pump outlet. Several gaps are formed between the pump housing, the gear wheels, the driveshaft, and the crankshaft journal. One of the gaps between the driveshaft and one of the gear wheels contains means for the rotationally fixed connection of the driveshaft to the gear wheel. In order to prevent leakages penetrating to the connecting means, according to the invention the gap between the driveshaft and the gear wheel is sealed, with respect to the front faces of the gear wheel, by means of a sealant.

Gear wheel pump

A pig traversable through a conduit to deliver a liquid, such as a coating material, having a resilient flexible, generally frustoconical sealing lip which is resiliently biased against an internal surface of the conduit and a resilient biasing member engaging and biased against an under surface of the sealing lip, biasing the sealing lip against an internal surface of the conduit. The disclosed embodiments of the resilient biasing member include annular coil springs and serpentine annular metal springs which may be U-shaped in cross-section, including a first leg received against the under surface of the sealing lip and a second leg received against the pig body portion.

Scraper pig

A transformer arrangement is disclosed for an electrostatic sprayer or in an adjacent moving element of a coating machine. A transformer provides a galvanic isolation between the line arrangement provided for supplying power to the sprayer arrangement, and consumers at high voltage in the sprayer or possibly in the robot arm. This isolation may be provided with an isolating transformer which has a sufficient isolation distance or other isolation device between the primary and secondary circuits.

Electrostatic spraying arrangement

A dual action piston type metering device is installed between the color changer of a coating system and its atomizer, the metering cylinder of which includes two input ports with the color changer output ports connected to the atomizer. The dual action piston type metering device enables the alternating operation of the cylinder ranges (A/B-operation) with only one single metering cylinder.

Procedure and piston type metering devices for the metered material supply for a coating device

A coating material supply device is disclosed, such as for a paint facility. An exemplary coating material supply device may include a coating material reservoir and a coating material meter. During application of coating material, the coating material reservoir may be at ground potential and may be located upstream from the coating material meter, which may be at a high-voltage potential. The reservoir may be connected via an insulating path to the coating material meter. The coating material meter may be at ground potential when the coating material reservoir supplies coating material to the coating material meter. Before the coating material meter is returned to a high-voltage potential for continued application of coating material, the insulating path may be emptied to insulate the coating material meter from the coating material reservoir.

Coating material supply installation and associated operating procedure

The piston dispenser for the measured supplying of material to the atomizer of a painting robot is arranged in the hand joint of the robot. Various feasible embodiments of the dispensing cylinder of this piston dispenser are described.

Automatically steered coating machine also a container for the coating material

The disclosed apparatus includes a supply line () between a source of liquid paint () and an applicator () having at least two pigs (A andB) and a source of liquid solvent () which delivers solvent () between the two pigs (A andB) and the pigs (A andB) are driven by paint () from adjacent the paint source () to the applicator (). The apparatus further includes a second source of liquid solvent () which delivers solvent () between the pigs (A andB) adjacent the applicator () and the pigs (A andB) are returned through the supply line (), thereby flushing the supply line (). In the disclosed embodiment, the source of liquid paint () is a piston dosing device () which receives paint () from a color changer or the like and delivers a predetermined volume of paint () to the applicator (). The delivery line () preferably includes a friction resistant inner layer, an intermediate dielectric layer and a protective outer layer.

Method and apparatus for delivering paint to an applicator and flushing same

A paint delivery and application system including a color changer, at least two paint canisters and a paint applicator, a first pair of supply lines connected between the color changer and the paint canisters and a second pair of supply lines connecting the paint canisters and the paint applicator, wherein the paint canisters operate in tandem permitting delivery of a first paint to one of the paint canisters while a second paint canister is electrically isolated from the color changer and is delivering paint to the applicator. In one disclosed embodiment, the delivery line from the paint canisters to the applicator includes two pigs and solvent is delivered between the pigs, such that this system is self purging.

Paint delivery and application system and method

The invention concerns a pig scraper for cleaning the inside wall of a coating agent conduit. The pig scraper includes a body insertable in the conduit and at least one sealing lip that seals against the inside wall of the conduit and extends parallel to a longitudinal axis of the body. A space is defined between the sealing lip and the body to form a pocket for enhancing the sealing of the sealing lip with respect to the conduit. The length of the sealing lip substantially prevents the lip from folding over on itself in response to a change in the direction of movement of the pig scraper in the conduit.

Hydraulically dynamic mono-pig scraper

For the pig delivery of the coating material at high voltage in a system for electrostatic mass-production coating of workpieces in the vicinity of grounded parts of the system, a multi-layer tube is provided, whose innermost layer forms the piggable inner wall, while a second layer consists of a high-voltage-resistant isolation material and is surrounded by a protective outer layer.
