An improved dental adhesive device to hold prosthetic devices in the human mouth is made as a laminate of webs which are bonded together by deforming a film of thermoplastic ethylene oxide polymer and having an external adhesive coating on the laminate. The dental adhesive is produced by continuously applying thermoplastic ethylene oxide polymer between moving webs of cellulose acetate fibers, applying additional thermoplastic ethylene oxide polymer to the external surface of the webs, and then passing said webs in superimposed relationship between a pair of dry heated calender rolls for thermoplastically bonding said webs into a unitary structure. A dry water-activated adhesive material, such as sodium alginate, may be employed with the thermoplastic ethylene oxide polymer by being dissolved or dispersed in the polymer. Synthetic fibers are applied to the webs so as to extend transversely through the webs.

The invention presented relates to a stick delivery system for the topical application of a treatment agent. The inventive stick delivery system includes a solvent such as a polyhydric alcohol; a gelling agent which can be an alkali metal stearate, an alkali metal palmitate or mixtures thereof; and a treatment agent selected from the group consisting of an anesthetic, an antihistamine, an anti-inflammatory agent, an antifungal agent, or mixtures thereof.

Data is also presented showing the comparative odor-reducing ability of latex foam which incorporates various amounts of the improved activated charcoal and standard foam incorporating conventional activated charcoal.

An animal collar for controlling fleas and ticks which is formed as an elongated strip with fasteners at the ends thereof. The strip is a plastic material with an effective amount of pesticide dispersed therethrough and has a substantial cross section with a breaking strength such that the strip cannot be broken should the animal hang by the collar. The strip has at least one break point of greatly reduced cross section to provide for a fracture of the plastic strip. The fracture strength at the break point is determined by a dropped weight of about 60 percent of the weight that would cause fracture in straight gently applied tension. The collar is described as having two break points, each positioned opposite each other when the collar is fastened around the neck of the animal.

A chewable aspirin and buffering material tablet and method for producing same is disclosed herein. In a single dosage form the aspirin and buffering materials are integrally dispersed and bound in a fatty material of chocolate, synthetic chocolate or hydrogenated tallow. The tablet is for gastrointestinal applications and is especially adopted for use with animals, particularly dogs, and can be molded into a variety of shapes including that of a miniature dog bone.

A dyeing system for human hair is provided comprising a bismuth salt and a catalyst which has a chemical structure having either an oxygen atom possessing a resonating double bond or an oxygen atom of an ether group attached to a carbon atom, such catalyst being characterized by a high degree of solubility in water and having a molecular weight of from about 50 to about 170.

A hair dyeing composition comprising a water-soluble metal salt complex and a sulfur-containing reducing compound is described. In the composition, the metal salt complex is a water-insoluble bismuth salt of an alpha-hydroxy, polycarboxylic acid with a nitrogen-containing solubilizing agent.
