An unobtrusive augmented reality (AR) system can be used to assist the wearer in every day interactions by projecting information from the contact lens display onto the retina of the wearer's eye. The unobtrusive augmented reality system includes a necklace and a contact lens display that are unobtrusive to the wearer and the wearer's surrounding environment. The necklace of the unobtrusive augmented reality system generates power and data for the contact lens displays. The necklace and contact lens display include conductive coils inductively coupled by a magnetic field. The inductive coupling allows data and power generated by the necklace to be transferred to the contact lens display. A projector in the contact lens display projects images generated from the data onto the retina of the wearers eye.

Unobtrusive eye mounted display

A pair of electronic eyeglasses includes an eyeglasses frame and an eyeglasses lens mounted within the eyeglasses frame. At least one femtoprojector is embedded within the eyeglasses lens. The femtoprojector includes an image source and an optical system that projects an image from the image source onto the retina of the wearer. The femtoprojector is small enough that is does not significantly interfere with the wearer's view through the eyeglasses lens.

An augmented reality system can include an electronic contact lens, a power source, and a head wearable object. The contact lens, power source, and head wearable object all include corresponding conductive loops to enable wireless transfer of power between the power source and the contact lens. When current is driven through a conductive loop of the power source, the power source generates a primary time-varying magnetic field. The primary time varying magnetic field induces a current in a conductive loop of the head wearable object. The induced current in the head wearable object generates a secondary time-varying magnetic field. Both the primary and secondary time varying magnetic field generate a current in the conductive loop of the contact lens. The system can also include a haptic feedback system that allows information to be communicated between elements of the system.

A simple antenna is connected to the RF input port on a conventional digital TV to receive video content from a plurality of video content sources wirelessly. The wireless RF transmission by a local transmitter has a range generally limited to within a home or room. The low power RF transmission is on a carrier frequency that is legally authorized by the FCC in frequency and power level. To identify the open channels for the RF transmission, a tuner scans for weak channels, and the transmitter is tuned to transmit on the detected weak channels.

Content delivery to a digital TV using a low-power frequency converted RF signal

A simple antenna is connected to the RF input port on a conventional digital TV to receive video content from a plurality of video content sources wirelessly. The video content sources, such as a DVD player and cable/satellite box, may generate baseband signals in a variety of formats. The baseband signals are connected to a remote converter for converting the baseband signals to a low power RF transmission having a standard format typically received at the digital TV's RF input. The RF transmission has a range generally limited to within a home or room. The small antenna connected to the RF input of the digital TV will typically be located behind the TV so as not to be seen. The low power RF transmission is on a carrier frequency that is legally authorized by the FCC in frequency and power level.

A method and system for switching signals over conductors is disclosed. The method and system comprises a plurality of encoders for receiving signals from a plurality of sources. The system further comprises a crosspoint switching matrix means for receiving encoded signals from the plurality of encoders and for providing encoded signals to a plurality of receivers. The crosspoint switching matrix means in a preferred embodiment includes a control system which is controlled by multiple remote receivers.

System and method for switching signals over twisted-pair wires

A wireless interface system comprising a set of input ports for keyboard, pointing device, and joystick signals, a data encoding circuit, a transmission unit, a receiving unit, a data decoding circuit, a keyboard data multiplexer unit, a pointing device data multiplexer unit, a joystick signal multiplexer unit, and a set of output interfaces for connecting to the corresponding computer ports. This system allows for the user to have a keyboard, pointing device, and joystick remotely located from the computer, and each input device shares a single wireless communication link to send its data to the computer.

A bi-directional signal transmission system comprises a bi-directional signal path with a low-impedance section coupled to a high-impedance section through a signal coupling for transmission of a binary signal in both directions; and adapting means for adapting the signal coupling under control of the signal itself, dependent on the transmission direction. I.sup.2 C-bus systems in particular benefit from the presence of the adapting means since communicating stations now can be located farther apart than was practical previously. In addition, the driving capability of the transmitting station is no longer a limiting factor.
