A nozzle mouthpiece for an injection molding nozzle for use in an injection molding tool and for processing a fluid mass has a flow channel having an inlet opening and an outlet opening. A first sealing surface is formed radially with respect to a longitudinal axis. A stop surface is arranged between the first sealing surface and the outlet opening and is aligned perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and facing the outlet opening. A a coupling means is arranged radially with respect to the longitudinal axis for fixing the nozzle mouthpiece in a mold sprue opening of a pattern plate. An injection molding nozzle and an injection molding tool is provided having such the telescopic nozzle mouthpiece, which can be fixed in a mold sprue opening of a pattern plate.

An electric heating unit for hot runner systems, and in particular for hot runner nozzles and/or hot runner manifolds includes at least one tubular or muff-like support and at least one heating layer fitted with heating conductor tracks. The heating layer is a fired foil or a fired thick-film paste and the muff-like support is able to be slipped onto a material feed pipe.

Electric heating device for hot runner systems

A hot runner nozzle having an electrical heating element includes a connector for producing an electrical connection to a connection line, terminal contacts for the heating element terminating in an insulation body for the connector that separates the terminal contacts from one another electrically. The connection line has contact elements that are electrically contactable with the terminal contacts of the heating element. The insulation body is arranged at least in part in a receiving sleeve of the connector, that the connection line may be fixed in or on the receiving sleeve such that the contact elements of the connection line electrically contact the terminal contacts of the heating element, and that a first end of the receiving sleeve that faces towards the heating element wraps around the insulation body and has on this first end two opposing feet that face outward and that are attached to the heating element.

The present invention relates to an electric heater () to heat substantially cylindrical objects (), in particular hot runner nozzles () of hot runner systems, essentially being fitted with at least one cylindrical support and with at least one heating conductor track () deposited on the support (). To reduce premature failure of the heater, the invention stipulates that each heating conductor track () runs substantially in the axial direction (A) of said support (), the heating conductor tracks () being connected to each other by conductor tracks () of lower electrical resistance and each conductor track () running essentially in the tangential direction (T) of the support ().

An operating device () for shut-off needles in injection moulding tools with needle valve nozzles has a displaceable element () to which at least two shut-off needles () can be fastened and which can be moved between two guide rails () mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable in a second direction (D) that is perpendicular to the first direction (D). At least two slide elements () are arranged between the displaceable element () and the guide rails () in grooves () running obliquely with respect to the first direction (D) and to the second direction (D), which convert a movement of the guide rails () in the first direction (D) into a displacement motion of the displaceable element () in the second direction (D). In order to achieve a flexible and easily manageable construction that permits inexpensive subsequent extensions and/or changes, the invention provides that at least one additional displaceable element () is arranged at the guide rails, where at least two slide elements () are arranged between the additional displaceable element () and the additional guide rails () in grooves () running obliquely with respect to the first direction (D) and to the second direction (D).

Operating device for shut-off needles in injection-moulding devices with needle valve nozzles

The present invention relates to injection molding apparatus () comprising a main manifold plate () fitted with at least several flow ducts (), further at least two auxiliary manifold plates () fitted with several flow ducts (), said auxiliary manifold plates being configured above and underneath the main manifold plate (), the flow ducts () of the particular auxiliary manifold plates () fluidly communicating with those of the main manifold plate (), further with needle valve nozzles () configured in mutually opposite and back-to-back manner and fluidly communicating with the flow ducts () of the auxiliary manifold plates (), where the needle valve nozzles () each comprise one valve needle () to open/close a nozzle outlet aperture, and further pneumatically or hydraulically actuated plunger units (units () driving the valve needles (), said plunger units being received in at least one separate receiving plate () configured between the auxiliary manifold plates (), and further means cooling and/or thermally insulating the minimum of one receiving plate ().

Injection moulding device comprising needle valve nozzles in a back-to-back arrangement

A nozzleused in injection molding comprises at least one runnerwithin a nozzle casingto convey injection material to be processed. At its lower end, the runnercommunicates, in flow-transmitting manner, through a nozzle orifice elementand an insert, with an injection mold cavity constituted by at least one mold insert. The insert preferably is made in powder metallurgy form of a wear-resistant material and is configured in limited longitudinally displaceable manner in the nozzle orificein the lower end of the runner. Said insertfurthermore constitutes a gate aperture. In the embodiment mode of a needle shutoff nozzle, a shutoff needledisplaceable between an open and a closed position passes through the runnerand through the insertwhich constitutes a centering element wherein an intake conecenters the intrinsic sealing elementof the needle. The thermally highly conducting nozzle orifice elementencloses the upper partof the insertand can be screwed from below into the nozzle casing. Alternatively the nozzle orifice elementand the insertare integral and both are inserted as a unit into the nozzle casingto be jointly longitudinally displaceable therein. The insert/centering elementis fitted with a support flangeso that the nozzle orifice elementand/or the insertbe reliably affixed.

Injection molding nozzle

A drive system () for shutoff needles in injection molds fitted with needle shutoff nozzles comprises an elevation drive element () to which can be affixed at least two shutoff needles () of two needle shutoff nozzles, said elevation drive element being displaceable&#x2014;between two longitudinally supported control rails () that can be moved in a first direction (R)&#x2014;in a second direction (R) perpendicular to the first direction (R), at least two glide elements () being configured in grooves () oblique to said first and second directions (R, R) running between the elevation drive element () and the control rails (), said glide elements converting the first motion of the control rails () in the direction (R) into an elevation motion imparted by the elevation drive element () in the second direction (R). In order to assure in particular substantially maintenance free and durably reliable operation of all valve needles, the invention provides that components which move relative to one another and hence are exposed to wear, in particular the control rails () and/or the glide elements (), are made at least in part of a self-lubricating or a diamantine material or are coated at least in part with a self-lubricating or diamantine material.

Actuating device for shut-off needles in injection molding devices comprising needle shut-off nozzles

A compound body comprises a steel base element on which is deposited a heater layer. The base element is made of a precipitation hardening steel. In the form of a manifold or material feed tube in a hot duct system, said base element comprises a round or convex surface receiving the heater layer. This heater layer is a compound layer having several strata and/or strata elements which are thick film pastes or sheets and in such form are consecutively deposited, dried and baked-on. The pre-compression generated in this process in the heater layer is increased in controlled manner by precipitation hardening the base element.

Compound body and method for manufacturing it

A needle valve nozzle for an injection mould has a nozzle body with at least one melt channel that terminates in a nozzle mouthpiece and a fluidic connection to a mould cavity formed by a mould insert. A shut-off needle penetrates the melt channel and nozzle mouthpiece and can be displaced between open and closed positions. At least one infeed cone is provided upstream of a seal seat to centre the shut-off needle, the lower end of which forms a shut-off part. The nozzle mouthpiece consists of a material with high thermal conductivity, with the infeed cone configured in a centering body consisting of wear-resistant material and running concentrically with the longitudinal axis of the needle valve nozzle. The entering body is held against and/or in the nozzle mouthpiece in a positive-fit and its end section forming an outlet for the melt can be engaged with the mould insert.

Needle valve nozzle

A hot runner nozzle structure provides insulation to reduce heat transfer to a utilizing tool and to increase accuracy of temperature measurement and control. A shaft foot of extremely low heat conductivity is used to separate a point of contact between a feed tube shaft and the tool. The shaft foot may be formed of titanium for example. An insulating cap of extremely low heat conductivity is surrounds the shaft foot in the vicinity of the nozzle tip. The cap may be formed of PEEK or of titanium for example. Gaps may be provided between the insulating cap and shaft foot and between the shaft foot and feed tube shaft. In an alternate embodiment having smaller dimensions, an insulating ring is provided at the end of the feed tube shaft. The structure, combined with a positioning sleeve surrounding the feed tube shaft, permits placing a heat sensor much closer to the nozzle tip in order to obtain more accurate temperature measurements.

Hot runner nozzle

A hot runner (10) with an externally heated material pipe (16) and die tip (26) comprises a pre-mounted heating unit (20) with a sealing body (24) which supports a pipe (40) for a heat sensor (34) in a circumferential segment (46). The sealing body (24) made in particular of brass encloses concentrically an insulated heating coil (23) in a steel pipe (22) which is mechanically protected by a partly sleeve-shaped retaining element (42). For example the sensor pipe (40) is supported in the sealing body (24) and is positively and/or adhesively retained between the edges of peripheral ends of a perforated sheet (42). The steel pipe 22) has a lateral recess (44) for inserting the connection points (36) of the heat sensor (34). The material pipe (16) is insertable into the heating device (20) and is able to conduct heat with the close positioning of its shaft (17) against the inner wall (25).

A casing (12) of an injection molding machine including at least one hot runner nozzle (10) retains the same by its shaft (20) which extends into a mold insert (16) and which supports at least one nozzle tip (50, 50') that projects over the shaft up to an article (K) to be molded. The mold insert includes an undercut (70) into which the nozzle tips (50, 50') are inserted by a two-step movement, viz. e.g. in a first direction (S) approximately parallel and then in a transversal direction (Q) relative to the axis (A) of a flow tube (22) that is heatable from its outside. The nozzle tips (50, 50') are fixed to a shaft foot portion (38) so as not to contact the casing (12) or a wall (17) of the mold insert (16). A peripheral step (34) centers the shaft (20) whose high-strength foot portion (38) heat-conductively retains the nozzle tips (50, 50'). A thermally separating sleeve (36 ) joined to the foot portion (38) is continued towards the casing (12) by a heat-conducting envelope tube (30). An inner heat-conductive bush (40) is thermally insulated from the separating sleeve (36) by air gaps (54, 44) and by a supporting ring (56).

Side gate hot runner nozzle

A hot runner nozzle (10) with lateral electrode terminals (28) has a broad flanged body (18) that continues as a thermally graded narrower shaft (20) through which a heatable flow tube (22) extends. Into its high-strength foot portion (38), at least one nozzle tip (50, 50') is insertable; a high-strength heat-conductive envelope tube (30) having a re-entrant outer shoulder (34) adjacent the casing (12) is joined to a separating sleeve (36) of the shaft (20). The lower end of a heating tube (26) is thermoconductively connected to a metal bush (40) whose upper portion is thermally insulated by air gaps (54, 44) from both the separating sleeve (36) and the heating tube (26). A supporting ring (56) of low heat conduction is mounted between axial faces of the heat-conductive bush (40) and the separating sleeve (36). The nozzle tips (50, 50') are form-fitted or welded to the foot portion (38) at an angle between 0.degree. and 90.degree. relative to the axis (A) of the shaft (20). The foot portion (38) is centered in a divided mold insert (16) wedge-fitted into the casing (12).
