In a method for printing a recording medium, an object type of image elements to be printed is determined for a corresponding print page using digital data. In generation of a bitmap for generation of a latent image for a first print process or a second print process, dependent on the object type image points are adapted in a direction of at least one main axis corresponding to an expected shrinkage. The recording medium is printed with a first toner image in a first print process. The first toner image is fixed on the recording medium in the fixing device where the recording medium shrinks along said at least one main axis. In the second print process, a second toner image is applied on the same recording medium in the direction of the main axis in a form compressed relative to that of the first print process.

Method and device for correcting paper shrinkage during generation of a bitmap

For operation of a data bus to which multiple bus participants each with a respective serial number are connected, a new bus participant is connected. A request bus message is generated by the new bus participant containing a preliminary participant identification number. The request bus message is arbitrated in the data bus by means of the identification number. A final participant identification number is assigned for the new bus participant having fewer digits than the serial number of the new participant. The final participant identification number is used for further bus messages by the new bus participant. During an initialization bus messages are used with an identifier in which a complete serial number is entered as the identifier. After the initialization a different type of bus message is used that has a shorter identifier.

Method for the operation of a data bus, and data bus system

In a method or system for operation of a data bus to which multiple bus participants each with a respective serial number specific to them are connected, a new bus participant is connected to the data bus. A request bus message is generated by the new bus participant, the message containing a preliminary participant identification number as an identifier derived from a serial number of the new bus participant. The request bus message is sent to a master processor system for assigning a final participant identification number for the new bus participant after a receipt of the request bus message with the preliminary participant identification number. The final participant identification number has fewer digits than the serial number of the new bus participant. The final participant identification number is used by the new bus participant as an identifier for further bus messages. Upon connection of said new bus participant, a time offset for said request bus message from said new bus participant to said master processor system is determined in addition to the preliminary participant identification number, said time offset being derived from the serial number of said new bus participant so that a simultaneous transmission of request bus messages from said new bus participant and any other new bus participants to said master processor system with the same preliminary participant identification numbers is avoided.

A printing system for printing on recording media first by a first printer and then by a second printer provides that print data is supplied in a page by page manner to the first and second printers from a print data source. Page information is sent to the printers using the print data and corresponding page information is sent to a buffer storage by the first printer. The page information in the buffer storage and the page information sent to the second printer are verified in a page by page manner by determining adherence to a predetermined rule. A synchronization mark is generated on the recording media by the first printer and is read by the second printer, which is used to control the printing process.

Printing system for printing a recording medium using two printers, and a method for operating such a printing system

A method and a device for controlling a drive unit which conveys a striplike laterally pre-printed recording medium, whereby a sensor is sensitized with respect to a regularly re-occurring mark of the recording medium. The recording medium is continuously scanned by the sensor during the printing operation and the speed at which the recording medium is conveyed is adjusted according to scanned signals from the sensor.
