A nozzle for an injection mold has a nozzle body which can be mounted on a mold or manifold and in which at least one duct for molten material is provided which opens at a terminal side at, or in, a nozzle tip In order to be able to realize extremely small pitches in two independent directions in space, the nozzle body has at least one substantially plane lateral surface which carries or accommodates in a plane 2D-type joining and/or arrangement a heating and/or cooling device for the molten material. In a special embodiment, the nozzle within in a row of nozzle R are located next to each other in very close relationship, and two opposing lateral surfaces S or the row of nozzles R are provided with heating and/or cooling devices , which are adapted to be connected in groups to a heating or cooling circuit via a common external terminal.

Nozzle for injection moulding tool and nozzle arrangement

An electric surface heating element is installed by direct application to the periphery of a cylindrical material pipe ( ) of a hot runner nozzle ( ). Said surface heating element consists of a ceramic dielectric layer ( ) which is directly applied to the metal pipe ( ) or to the wall ( ) thereof, at least one layer ( ) consisting of heating conductor strips ( ) and an electrically insulating ceramic covering layer ( ) which is applied on top of the latter. Film, or thick-coat screen printing technology are suitable as coating processes. However, thick-coat technology using round printing is preferably used for the layer construction as a whole. Alternatively, the ceramic dielectric layer ( ) can be fixed to the periphery of the hot runner pipe ( ) in the form of a prefabricated green film and subsequently baked.

Electric heating element for hot runner systems and a method for producing a heating element of this type

A hot runner nozzle for an injection mold with a material pipe made of a high-strength material, which may be mounted on a mold or manifold has at least one flow duct for a melt and a nozzle tip at its lower end. A heater for the melt is attached onto the periphery of the material pipe, the heater being designed as a solid block made of a highly heat-conductive material and comprising a first receiving channel for the material pipe and at least one other receiving channel for a linear heating element, which other channel is substantially parallel to the first receiving channel. This heating assembly ensures a surprisingly uniform and homogeneous temperature distribution in the material pipe down to the nozzle tip.

Hot runner nozzle

Plugs ( ) that can be removed and that are made in two parts are used to close off channel sections in a hot-channel distributor ( ); these are arranged so as to subtend an acute angle &agr; with the principal axis (A) of a channel ( ) that can be charged with a plastified mass. A continuous sealing edge of the face surface ( ) of these is pressed onto a continuous annular surface ( ) that encloses an opening ( ) to the channel ( ). The angle &agr; lies between 40&deg; to 45&deg;. The plug ( ) incorporates a pressure piece ( ) that is located in front of a screw body ( ) that can be screwed into an inclined bore ( ) that opens out into area of the channel in the distributor ( ) that is to be sealed off. At the sealing edge ( ), the face surface ( ) of the plug is flat, although it can be concavely curved inward or be crowned ( ), much like a segment of a sphere, the diameter of which is defined by the diameter of the smallest radius of the sealing edge ( ). The outer annular surface ( ), which is circularly restricted, can be arranged on an elbow ( ) at which the channel ( ) makes the transition to become a branch of the distributor ( ). In a through channel ( ) with a series of branches ( ) selected sections ( ), the ends of which have annular surface ( ) that are inclined opposite to each other, can be closed off by the associated plugs ( ).

Hot channel stopper

A valve-type nozzle (,) is provided for use in hot runner systems through which a plastic material melt is fed under high pressure to a separable and coolable tool having at least one mold cavity (K) for injection-molded items. The nozzle is heatable and comprises at least one needle valve (,) supported by sliding guides (,), the arrangement being such that the melt, which is fed trough a material pipe (,), passes around at least a lower section (,) of the needle valve (,). The nozzle (,) further comprises, in an antechamber (,) upstream of the mold cavity (K), at least one outlet (,) adapted to receive a closely fitting needle end (,). The needle valve (,) includes in its lower section (,), upstream of the needle end, a pressure-relief arrangement that is in direct flow-connection with the antechamber (,). The pressure-relief arrangement comprises, in a guide piece (,), at least one branch-off bore (,) that runs radially at an angle of 90&deg; to the longitudinal direction (L) of the needle valve (,).
