A Microprocessor controlled timer particularly adapted for control of an animal feeder with a display of program items and with user settable feeding times and duration of such feeding times based upon the microprocessor calculated sunrise and sunset times with a selector switch and a change switch and display of program items allowing user reprogramming of the timer; the timer being broadly usable for activation of electrical equipment when desirable activation is at times relative to sunrise and sunset and also being usable for activation of electrical equipment according to normal clock time.

This invention comprises a cam driven plug that opens and closes exhaust valve ports in an engine cylinder and while it moves to open forms an optimum variable geometry nozzle for the exhaust gasses exiting from the cylinder to impart maximum velocity energy to these exhaust gasses for delivery first at supersonic speed and then lower velocities as the cylinder pressure decays to drive a turbine that delivers power to the shaft of the internal combustion engine or other service loads.

An automotive fuel additive dispensing and blending system is described wherein both proprietary and mandated fuel additives heretofore normally added at the refinery or a bulk storage plant may be added at a service station and blended into the fuel as fuel is dispensed thereby allowing most effective and reliable addition of additives that may be volatile and that may degrade in storage after mixed with fuel as well as providing a cost effective method for supplying differing gasoline blends to the customer.

Automotive fuel additive dispensing and blending system

An automotive fluids dispensing and blending system wherein a customer may select various fuel additives such as octane enhancers, fuel injector cleaners, varnish dissolvers, compounds to free-up piston rings, etc., all choices of which may be automatically blended with the selected fuel as the fuel is being dispensed normally into the vehicle fuel tank. The system also allows the customer to select and dispense various engine oils and oil additives, antifreeze solutions, windshield washer fluid, power steering fluid, and other automotive fluids directly into the vehicle using provided lines, nozzles and controls. All sales transactions are displayed to the customer and station operator for purposes of payment, and all sales transaction data is recorded and stored.

Automotive fluids dispensing and blending system

An advanced turbo compound engine of internal combustion type having conventional reciprocally movable pistons, cylinders, manifolds, fuel-oxygen admixing apparatus or fuel injection, firing apparatus or compression ignition, and incorporating the improvement of respective nozzle means for conveying the hot, moderately high pressure combustion products (exhaust gases) from the respective cylinders to one or more turbines, the nozzle means having its inlet and discharge ends connected, respectively, with the respective boundary walls of respective combustion chambers or cylinders and with the inlet to a turbine. The turbine may have its shaft connected with a compressor for compressing at least air for intake to the engine and/or for connecting with the output shaft of the engine for assisting in delivering power that is used as desired, or connected to other auxiliary power needs.

Internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas turbine

A gasoline dispenser control and data system comprising a central office and a plurality of local stations, each station having dispenser control functions, data storage functions and communication functions. The station has a dispenser control mode and data entry mode. In the dispenser control mode a dispenser may be set to dispense gasoline, such dispensing of gasoline resulting in the production of pulses which are accumulated in a counter. The dispenser may then be reset for the next sale. Upon reset the counter is returned to zero, and the previous sale is stored in a temporary memory for recall and display, also being stored in two separate permanent memories, one of which is accessible to the station operator and the other of which is not accessible to the station operator. In the data entry mode the station operator can enter data into some but not all permanent memories. The station data system may be telephoned by the central office and each memory interrogated. The central office may also enter new data in the station data system. Means are provided for interrupting transmission for a limited time for operation of dispensers on a limited basis. Means are also provided for automatically entering data such as the amount of gasoline in storage tanks in the station memory, for 'in use' and 'ready' signals for each dispenser, and for an emergency off function.

Control and data system

A combination timer and photoelectrically activated control circuit to selectively repeat a timed electromechanical operation at dawn and/or dusk in response to sunrise and/or sunset conditions. Said photoelectric control timer being provided with a deactivating circuit which turns off the output to the load after a preselected time. The circuit remains off even though the initiating light conditions prevail, or reverse. For example, if set to operate with illumination, the device operates in the morning at about sunrise, and after the preset interval a deactivating circuit switches off the output which remains off the remainder of the day while daylight prevails. When daylight ebbs, the photoelectric initiating circuit resets and the entire circuit is reset to repeat the operation when light returns the following morning. An equivalent photoelectric initiating circuit is provided to trigger the timer when light conditions change from light to darkness, such as at sundown.

A storage tank liquid level sensor for indicating levels of two immiscible liquids in the tank wherein a first magnet is carried by a float on top of one liquid and a second magnet is carried by a float on top of the other liquid, the first magnet operating a switch to indicate when the one liquid reaches a predetermined level and the second magnet moving a coded tape with respect to a read head in accordance with changes in the level of the other liquid, a transmitter to transmit data from the read head, a receiver for such data, an arithmetic logic unit to convert the data to binary coded decimals, a memory unit for storage of BCD data, and a display unit for selectively addressing the computer and displaying selected data.
