A steering column with a steering-column tube, a steering spindle and at least one steering bearing for the rotatable mounting of the steering spindle in the steering-column tube, the steering bearing having an outer ring sitting in the steering-column tube, an inner ring and rolling bodies arranged between the outer ring and a track section of the inner ring, wherein the inner ring bears against the steering spindle at only two points and, for this purpose, has a first section which axially adjoins the track section and bears under prestress against the steering spindle at the first point, and a second section which is axially spaced apart from the first section, which axially adjoins the track section, and which has a first end of the inner ring in interaction with the steering spindle at the second point.

A suspension strut used in a wheel suspension of an automotive vehicle, includes a shock absorber, a suspension strut bearing, and a coil spring at least partially coaxially surrounding the shock absorber and having one spring end supported by the shock absorber. The suspension strut bearing includes two plastic carrier elements, and a roller bearing positioned between the carrier elements. One carrier element is a guide ring connected to a vehicle body of the vehicle, and the other carrier element is a single-piece housing having incorporated therein plural hollow chambers in partial concentric surrounding relationship to the shock absorber and formed with a guide collar and a support surface for supporting the other end of the coil spring. The guide ring has a radially inner collar and a radially outer collar which together receive the roller bearing and extend at least beyond a midsection of the roller bearing.

A play-free radial ball bearing, includes an inner bearing ring and two outer bearing rings which are disposed in spaced-apart relationship and define a common raceway. A spring element applies an axial force on one of the outer bearing rings to thereby press the outer bearing rings resiliently against one another. The outer bearing rings and the spring element are surrounded by a tolerance ring which is made of plastic material to provide a structural unit, whereby the tolerance ring has a shoulder on one end for radially surrounding the spring element and at least one retaining lug on another end for radially surrounding the other one of the outer bearing rings.

A bearing assembly includes a rolling bearing, having an inner ring, an outer ring, rolling bodies arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring, and a clamping ring, for supporting a steering shaft and a further bearing, for supporting a steering shaft. The rolling bearing is further provided with a pre-tensioning element for axially loading the rolling bearing and the further bearing relative to one another, and a support element for axially supporting the steering shaft are further provided, with the outer ring circumscribing at least one of the pre-tensioning element and the support element at radial and axial distances to an inner surface area of the outer ring. A retention member holds the at least one of the pre-tensioning element and the support element in axial direction, to form an assembly unit, with the pre-tensioning element and the support element being integrated in the outer ring.

A self-aligning ball bearing for steering shafts (7) of automotive vehicles having an elastic convexity (8) deviating from the circular shape and arranged in at least one peripheral section of at least one of the raceways (2, 4), preferably of the outer raceway (2), so that two adjacent bearing balls (5) are radially prestressed between the raceway convexity (8) and the facing raceway.
