A seal for bearing bushing with a sealing ring in a bore of the bearing bushing having a sealing surface which rests against a cylindrical surface of a machine part supported in the bearing bushing. An auxiliary seal is located between the open end of the bearing bushing and a shoulder of the machine part. The auxiliary seal has a ring-shaped collar extending in the axial direction, by which it is connected to the bearing bushing and at least one sealing lip bearing against the bearing bushing. The ring-shaped collar is pretensioned with radial pretension. The auxiliary seal has axially oriented projections located in a ring-shaped recess on the side facing the bearing bushing and each projection is situated over a portion of its length on a tongue of the ring-shaped collar.

Seal for bearing bushings

A locking mechanism for connecting machine parts such as bearing rings on a support. The support includes at least one radially elastic element having a seating surface for the ring which is deflectable radially inwardly to permit assembly of the ring on the support surface and at least one locking element formed integrally with the support and acuatable between a release position wherein the snapping element can be flexed to facilitate assembly and removal of a ring on the seating surface and a locked position wherein the ring is supported in a form locking manner in the seating surface.

Locking mechanism

A ball bearing for lengthwise movement has a cage sleeve between a shaft and a housing. The cage sleeve has a plurality of circumferentially distributed channels in which a corresponding row of circulating balls is arranged. The balls loaded by the shaft travel in one linear raceway and return unloaded in another linear raceway, the ends of the linear raceways being connected by a pair of reversing raceways. A load-transmitting raceway rail is seated in each of a plurality of openings in the cage sleeve. Each raceway rail has a raceway groove formed by an inner shoulder and an outer shoulder which overlies the linear raceway for loaded balls, a surface portion which overlies the linear raceway for unloaded balls, and a pair of end surfaces which overlie the respective reversing raceways. These end surfaces are substantially parallel to a hypothetical half-circle defined by the path of a center point of a ball during travel in the corresponding reversing raceway and are substantially tangent to a hypothetical extension of the raceway groove such that smooth rolling of a circulating ball is enabled during transitions between the linear raceway for loaded balls and the reversing raceways.

Ball bearing for lengthwise movement

A method and apparatus for manufacture of a rolling body directly on a bearing, comprising a hub, a roller sleeve, an annular portion joining the hub and roller sleeve, and reinforcing ribs on either side of the annular portion. Injected material fills the recesses for forming the reinforcing ribs from two directions: a primary flow radially inwardly directed from the mold portion for forming the roller sleeve and a secondary flow radially outwardly directed from the mold portion for forming the hub. The total cross-sectional area of the recesses for forming the reinforcing ribs is adjusted with respect to the circumferential cross-sectional area of the mold portion for forming the annular portion so that the fronts of the primary and secondary flows meet in the recesses. Pressure-release openings are arranged to communicate with the recesses at points in the area at which the meeting of the flow fronts occurs. The junctures resulting from the meeting of the flow fronts are thereby formed along the reinforcing ribs.

Method for the manufacture of rollers

A pocket cage for a rolling bearing, e.g. a cylindrical roller bearing, made in a mold with single-piece, radially movable sliders, in particular out of plastic material with low deformability, which cage comprises two side rings connected by webs, with at least the circumferential outer surface or the bore being provided with projections which project into the pockets and extend along only part of the web length for retaining the rolling elements in the radial direction. In particular, a retaining projection is provided on a first side of each web and a recess, i.e. free space, is provided on a second side of each web. The angle between the oblique surface of the recess and the second side surface of the web is greater than or equal to the angle between the surface of the retaining projection which faces the rolling element and the first side surface of the web.

Pocket cage for rolling bearing

Gear for chain drives comprising a gear body of cast material having a hub section, a gear rim section with spur teeth, and a web section joining said hub and gear rim sections, and a ring plate of metal embedded in the web section, the outer edge of said plate being near the bottom of the areas between the spur teeth and having axial openings filled with casting material around its periphery, said ring plate having at its outer radial edge, radially outwardly directed projections, which are located in each case in a tooth, and which are embedded in the casting material of the gear body, said projections extending beyond the bottom of the spaces between adjacent spur teeth, and an axial opening formed in the ring plate adjacent each projection and radially below it.

Gear and method for making the same

The invention pertains to a process and a device for the production of pocket cages for roller bearings. The starting material is a cup-shaped blank or a tube, and the lateral surfaces of the cage are cut at the same time that the rolling element pockets are stamped out. In this way a work step on a separate processing machine is eliminated.

Method for making cages for rolling bearings

Apparatus for making a molded plastic roller with embedded bearings. The roller is formed directly on a bearing or the like by injecting plastic into a mold by way of an umbrella sprue. The tool parts are arranged so that the shearing surface, formed after shearing off of the sprue residue when the mold is opened, is located on the outer surface of the inner collar portion. The molding tool comprises two tool parts for forming the outer surfaces of the rolling body, at least one tool part having a molding portion for forming an annular recess in the roller, and a cylindrical tool part inserted in the bearing, or the like and having a mushroom-shaped head. A back taper of the molding portion for forming the annular recess and the edge of the head together define an annular clearance through which plastic material is injected. The head has a planar surface which covers the bearing or the like and serves as the molding surface for the sides of the inner collar portion, and a spherical surface for defining the umbrella sprue.

Apparatus for molding a roller with bearings

A sliding sleeve for a clutch shifter particularly for automobile clutches comprising an elongated hub body made of a plastic material, a thrust collar which protrudes radially outwardly from the hub body and includes contact surfaces for the shift lever of the clutch and for the shift bearing, at least two lugs secured in the hub body and directed radially inwardly adjacent the bore of the thrust collar, each lug being of generally U-shaped cross section to define a groove for the shift lever extending in an axial direction and a thin plastic layer overlying the side surfaces of the groove receiving the projections of the shift lever in the hub body and the adjacent surfaces of the ends of the lugs directed radially outwardly and running parallel to the contact surfaces.

Sliding sleeve for clutch shifters

A cage for ball bearings consists of two side rings connected together by webs, and having ball pockets with ball pockets having curved partial surfaces inside and outside of the pitch circle and displaced from one another in the axial direction. In this arrangement the rubbing between the walls of the cage pockets and the balls is very small and free space is provided for receiving a lubricant. The pocket walls of the cage sections lying in the region of one or the other of the side rings has several radially-overlying zones, with conical surfaces, the conical surfaces being arranged at different inclinations to the bearing axis.

Cage for ball bearings, especially for inclined ball bearings

Arrangement for the die casting of a roller bearing cage having pockets for the rolling bodies includes an outer housing covering the die casting mold and having guide openings opening at the central planes of the respective pockets and main and auxiliary slides arranged side by side in each guide opening. The main and auxiliary slides have guiding surfaces at their inner ends directed at an angle to the central plane, the guiding surfaces being laterally opposite one another and supporting one another. Each auxiliary slide has a lateral bulge on the side thereof opposite the guiding surface of the guide opening for defining a lateral limit wall of the pocket with holding projections for the rolling bodies on the inner and outer edges. The arrangement in accordance with the invention requires few components, provides a compact construction, and is economically produceable. The main slides are each operable from the exterior of the apparatus, and have recesses with inner and outer shoulder surfaces. The respective auxiliary slides have holding lugs extending into the recesses of the respective main slide between the inner and outer shoulder surfaces thereof with play. The auxiliary slides further have support surfaces on the sides thereof opposite the holding lugs with an outer edge running along the boundary wall of the corresponding pocket and supported on the wall of the guide opening of the housing, the auxiliary slide being arranged to be tiltable in the guide opening about the boundary edge.

Arrangement for pressure welding of a rolling bearing cage

A process and apparatus for forming a cage part, for a ball bearing, wherein the cage parts are annular with alternate flat portions and ball receiving recesses. The cage parts are formed by pressing the rings from cage material such as steel. The flat portions are formed with axially extending rivet pins or holes for receiving the rivet pins of another cage part, in order to enable fastening of the cage parts together. The rivet pins are formed by pressing operation at the time as forming the cage part, by the flowing of the material of the cage part into recesses in a die.

Method and apparatus for the production of a rolling bearing cage

In a method and apparatus for casting or molding cages for rolling elements, two slides are provided for each pocket. The slides have an engaging, inclined surface, and are shaped to permit one of the slides to be removed by initially sliding it along the inclined surface. The other slide may thereby be moved laterally in the formed pocket, and withdrawn from the pocket. Facing slides of adjacent pockets may be joined together, with limited movement possible therein, to form a complete ring serving as a mold member.

Method and apparatus for casting or injection-molding of cages of

The arrangement according to the invention provides a sealing ring fastened to the end ring in a manner secure against removal by pulling or twisting. This sealing ring is provided with thickened extended arms and is fastened by snapping in the thickened arm sections behind an internal radial shoulder through openings in the flange of the end ring. The opening in the flange of the end ring may be economically manufactured, as by means of axial forms or cores, and without the need for additional radial cores, within the casting mold.
