An illumination apparatus for vehicles having a light source, a support plate for receiving the light source, and an optical unit arranged in front of the light source in the main emission direction to deflect light emitted by the light source onto a roadway in front of the vehicle in accordance with a predetermined light distribution. The light source has a light-emitting surface and a light source frame surrounding the same. The light source is surrounded by a shielding frame with a wall that is raised in the main emission direction and encloses an intermediate space between the light source and the optical unit.

A headlamp for vehicles with a laser module comprising a laser light source for the radiation of a laser light beam, and an optic unit to shape the laser light beam to form a given light distribution. The optic unit has a primary optic device for the imaging of an intermediate image on an intermediate image plane. The optic unit has a deflection device which is arranged in an intermediate image plane and which has a limiting edge by means of which a share of the light of the laser light beam is deflected along a light path in the direction of a bundling device, by means of which the share of light is deflected into a light distribution while forming a cut-off line.

A headlight for motor vehicles is provided that includes an optical element, which is connected to a support element by at least one ball-and-socket joint. The ball-and-socket joint has a spherical ball and a spherical socket. The socket encloses the ball with socket segments and is inserted together with the ball into a receptacle, and contacts, via its socket segments, the inside of the receptacle. The socket contacts the bottom of the receptacle with a base, and has on the other side freestanding elastic socket segments that enclose the ball. Elastic detent elements of the receptacle engage behind the base of the socket and retain the socket axially in the receptacle.

A signal lamp for vehicles, specifically motor vehicles, has a housing in which at least one light source is positioned, and a light guide from which light is directed in a predetermined light exit direction, whereby the light guide is structured as a long stretched-out light-release element that extends at least in areas along an edge of a housing and/or of a reflector.

The opening in the bowl-shaped plastic reflector is surrounded by a collar. Inserted into the collar is an incandescent lamp with a flange that surrounds its base and rests against the face of the collar. The lamp is secured to the reflector with a wire spring that is bent along the optical axis into the shape of a U at the rear of the reflector. The two legs of the spring are tensioned against opposite sides of the collar. The free ends of the legs rotate in a mount. Another mount is positioned on the other side of the collar and has a projection that extends out more or less radially in relation to the optical axis of the reflector and creates an undercut. The web that connects the legs automatically snaps into the undercut. The web has a lever in the form of a bent-in eye that rotates when forced down along the optical axis around a section of the second mount that parallels the web of the spring.
