A thermodynamic engine converts the superheated steam of at least one working medium into kinetic energy using a decompression device. Said engine includes a low-temperature circuit, in which a first working medium is transported through a first heat exchanger and subsequently through the decompression device and a high-temperature circuit, in which a second working medium is transported through a second heat exchanger and subsequently through the decompression device. The first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger are located in the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, and the internal combustion engine a coolant circuit can be used to heat the working mediums in separate collection containers.

Thermodynamic engine

Motor vehicle comprises a combustion engine with internal combustion of fuel and/or cold-flame product for driving the motor vehicle and thereby producing exhaust gas and an auxiliary power unit comprising an external burner and an expansion machine. A fuel tank with fuel provides energy to the burner and the combustion engine. The motor vehicle has a cold-flame-reactor with means for feeding the fuel from the fuel tank to the cold-flame reactor, and at least a portion of the fuel is pre-combusted to a cold-flame product in the cold-flame reactor.

Vehicle with combustion engine and auxiliary power unit

The invention relates to a device for producing mechanical energy. Said device contains an internal combustion engine and an expansion engine () which is fed with superheated steam from a steam generator. Exhaust gases of the internal combustion engine are injected into the steam generator () to use the waste heat thereof. In order to eliminate pollutants and non-burned fuel in the exhaust gases of the internal combustion engine in a simple and effective manner, the steam generator () is heated by a non-catalytic burner () at a burner temperature of between 1100&#xb0; and 1300&#xb0; C. The exhaust gases of the internal combustion engine can be combined with the combustion gases in the burner (). The after-burning of non-burned fuel and the combustion of pollutants is thus carried out in a burner () in a non-catalytic manner. The combustion gases in said burner () are at a temperature such that non-burned fuel components in the exhaust gases of the internal combustion engine which are introduced into the burner are after-burned, but form, however, essentially no nitrogen oxides at excessive temperatures. The burner () is used to heat the steam generator () and can be designed according to the energy requirement of the steam generator () and the expansion engine (). The heat of the exhaust gases of the internal combustion engine is used to generate steam.

Device for producing mechanical energy

In a steam motor with a piston engine, the piston engine is included in a closed steam circuit. This steam circuit includes a steam generator, a steam injector for injecting steam into the piston engine, a condenser for condensing the steam emerging from the piston engine to condensed water, and a water feeding pump for feeding the condensed water to the steam generator. The steam generator is heated by hot combustion gas from a combustion unit. The combustion unit burns fuel. The fuel is mixed with fresh air supplied by an air feeding device through a fresh air passage. The fresh air passage usually contains a first heat exchanger for pre-heating the fresh air by heat from the expanded steam emerging from the piston engine, and a second heat exchanger for pre-heating the fresh air by heat from hot waste gas emerging from the steam generator. In order to provide a particularly compact steam motor without adversely affecting the efficiency, a rotary piston engine is used as piston engine.
