A new hybrid tea rose for garden decoration, having as its seed parent Angel Face (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 2,792) and as its pollen parent First Prize (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 2,774). The new cultivar produces an unusual flower color combination of tan centers surrounded by bright pink outer petals. It grows vigorously, displaying an abundance of deep green, semi-glossy foliage. Removal of old blooms to maintain a continual production of flowers during the growing season is not required as the plant is unable to set hips.

A new variety of rose plant of the Hybrid Tea class, being a half-hardy, outdoor, tall bush seedling, particularly adapted for garden decoration and which produces large pointed buds and large, slow-opening, long-lasting blooms on long, strong cutting stems. In contrast to other yellow roses, its clear yellow coloration lasts well throughout the life of the bloom.

This new rose cultivar is unique and distinguishable from existing rose cultivars by the following combination of characteristics: its large flowers of pastel coloration are borne singly on long strong stems suitable for cutting; its abundant large deep green foliage attractively clothes a tall, well-branched bush; its large, long pointed buds open in a classic spiraled form; and its vigor and profusion of bloom provides an easy-to-grow satisfying garden plant.

This new rose cultivar is unique and distinguishable from existing rose cultivars by the following combination of characteristics: its extremely large foliage attractively clothes the plant, covering unsightly stems; the inside of each petal is very velvety, lending an effect of iridescence to the red coloration; the deep red coloration is relatively uniform throughout the life of the flower; its flowers are very slow opening both on the plant and in the vase; and its abundant production of strong, long-stemmed flowers well lend the variety for cutting.

Hybrid tea rose plant cv. Southern Belle

A hybrid floribunda rose plant of the tall bush type particularly adapted for green house cultivation and having a vigorous growth habit and a tendency to bloom heavily, throughout most of the growing season. The blooms are of a two-tone deep coloration, the centers of the new blooms being of a deeper pink which accentuates their classic form. Cut flowers usually preserve their freshness for a vase life longer than average for roses of this class.

A new variety of hybrid tea rose, being a tender seedling of the tall bush type, well adapted for greenhouse cultivation. The plant is of upright-bushy habit, moderately branched and moderately vigorous in growth. Blooms are borne singly, and have a uniform all-over pink coloration which lightens with maturity to a pink color slightly less deep than at first opening. There is a moderate tea fragrance, with a somewhat spicy cast.

A new hardy variety of hybrid grandiflora rose plant, of the outdoor, bush type, having a strong citrus fragrance and blooming abundantly almost throughout the growing season. Blooms are borne sometimes singly but usually three to five on a stem, and display color effects predominantly of off-white, suffusing to yellow-green. Flowers range from 3 to 31/2 inches across, with from 25 to 30 petals, plus 0 to 5 petaloids.

A new variety of rose plant of the floribunda class, being a dwarf bush seedling, much branched and of moderately vigorous growth. Flowers are borne sometimes singly, sometimes three or more in irregular clusters on short to medium-length stems. The petal color, both inside and outsie, is a bright golden yellow, fading at maturity to a lighter shade of the same color. The plant blooms profusely, with from 20 to 26 broad round petals on a plant of nearly ideal floribunda habit.

A new hybrid tea rose of the tall bush type, tender to semihardy, raised as an outdoor seedling and useful primarily for garden decoration. The most notable characteristic is the bicolor nature of the blooms which have a general color effect between orange and yellow, usually with 25 to 35 petals plus 1-5 petaloids, and a color reverse, especially on the outer petals. The color changes from reddish orange to yellowish pink as the flower matures.
