The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for adding a liquid reducing agent, preferably an aqueous urea solution, to the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. The apparatus according to the present disclosure comprises a dosing device arranged in an exhaust line of the internal combustion engine, which device is designed to generate a reducing agent spray by means of an injector. The apparatus furthermore comprises a swirl generator device, designed as a hollow body, preferably a hollow cylinder, about a longitudinal axis, which has a first end facing the injector and a second end facing away from the injector. The shell surface L of the swirl generator device, designed as a hollow body, furthermore comprises at least one exhaust inlet opening extending substantially in the longitudinal direction and a guide element, attached adjacent to the exhaust inlet opening and covering the exhaust inlet opening in the interior of the swirl generator device, at least in part at a distance, for deflecting an exhaust gas flow. According to the present disclosure, the guide element is closed in the direction of the first end of the swirl generator device, by means of a wall or connection to the shell surface, for example, and open in the direction of the second end of the swirl generator device. The present disclosure furthermore relates to a motor vehicle, preferably a utility vehicle, having a corresponding apparatus.

Apparatus for adding a liquid reducing agent to the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and motor vehicle

An apparatus for mixing an exhaust gas stream with an additive, in particular a reducing agent. The apparatus has a mixing pipe for mixing the exhaust gas stream with the additive. The apparatus has a first deflection pipe for deflecting the exhaust gas stream, in particular by about 180&#xb0;. The exhaust gas stream can be fed to the mixing pipe on the end side via the first deflection pipe. The first deflection pipe has a fastening region for attaching an additive injector to the first deflection pipe. The first deflection pipe has a swirl generating wall region arranged on the end side with respect to the mixing pipe and is configured to impart a swirl to the exhaust gas stream.

Apparatus for mixing exhaust gas and an additive

A device for aftertreatment of exhaust gas includes: a prechamber having an exhaust gas inlet; a main chamber; a mixing device, in which the exhaust is mixable with an additive; and an intermediate device, via which a partial exhaust gas flow is deliverable from the prechamber to the mixing device. The intermediate device has swirl elements configured to reverse the direction of swirl of swirled exhaust gas flow generated in the prechamber as the exhaust gas overflows into the interior of the intermediate device, and/or the prechamber is configured to impel a first partial exhaust gas flow in a direction of swirl, and the main chamber is configured to impel a second partial exhaust gas flow from the prechamber in a direction of swirl, the direction of swirl of the exhaust gas in the prechamber being opposed to the direction of swirl of the exhaust gas in the main chamber.

Device for the aftertreatment of exhaust gas from a motor vehicle

An exhaust-gas system has an exhaust-gas pipe for guiding an exhaust-gas flow and an injection nozzle mounted to the exhaust-gas pipe for injecting reducing agent into the exhaust-gas flow. Downstream of the injection nozzle, the exhaust-gas pipe branches into at least two exhaust-gas lines. A fluid divider, formed with a front face that faces upstream into the gas flow, is disposed between the injection nozzle and the branching. The front face is oriented with respect to the cross section of the exhaust-gas pipe and the injection nozzle, such that the exhaust-gas flow and the medium are divided among the exhaust-gas lines in a predefined dividing ratio.

An exhaust gas system for diesel vehicles has a first exhaust line and a second exhaust line that can be connected at the exhaust end to an engine. The first and second lines with their ends pointing downstream are connected to an SCR catalytic converter and a device with which a reducing agent can be introduced into the exhaust gas at a location situated upstream from the SCR catalytic converter. An injection unit for the reducing agent is provided only on the first exhaust line, and a mixing device is provided upstream from the SCR catalytic converter so that the exhaust lines open into the mixing device, where the exhaust gas stream of the first exhaust line to which the reducing agent has been added becomes mixed with the exhaust gas stream from the second exhaust line that is free of reducing agent.
