A cutter bar assembly for an agricultural vehicle header includes a cutter bar supported by movable arms extending from a header frame and capable of operation in flex and rigid modes. The support arms are joined to the header frame such that they may be displaced from a raised position in the rigid mode when subjected to a lifting force due to striking an obstacle without damage to the header structure. Also, an agricultural vehicle header and an agricultural combine harvester includes the cutter bar assembly.

An adjustable stalk stomper and/or chopper curtain assembly for a header of an agricultural harvester. The adjustable assembly comprises a control arm, at least one member connected to the control arm, wherein the at least one member is configured to knock down plant stalks and/or to shield the agricultural harvester from flying debris, and wherein the control arm is configured to provide for adjustment of the orientation of the at least one member relative to the ground and the header. An agricultural harvester header may include the above adjustable assembly and a frame having a toolbar. An agricultural harvester may include such header.

Adjustable stalk stomper/chopper curtain assembly

A knife head drive assembly for a header of an agricultural harvester including a knife head assembly for attachment to a forward end of the header. A first pivot arm and a second pivot arm are carried by the knife head assembly and are pivotably connected by a linkage. A rotating crank is operatively connected to and extending substantially transverse to the knife head assembly for engagement with a drive. A reciprocating shaft is connected to the rotating crank and either of the pivot arms or the linkage. Operation of the knife head drive assembly results in substantially linear, opposed oscillating motion of cutter bars carried by the knife head assembly.

A draper belt system is provided that includes a first draper belt assembly with first and second rollers, and a second draper belt assembly with third and fourth rollers. The third roller of the second draper belt assembly is disposed adjacent to the first roller of the first draper belt assembly. The first draper belt assembly is configured to pivot relative to the second draper belt assembly. Pivoting of the first draper belt assembly results in a change in a distance between the first and third rollers.

A combine feeding system includes a lower conveyor roller configured to rotate around a lower conveyor roller axis, an upper conveyor roller configured to rotate around an upper conveyor roller axis and a drive shaft configured to rotate around a drive shaft axis. The lower conveyor roller axis, upper conveyor roller axis and drive shaft axis are substantially perpendicular to first and second housing walls. The feeding system also includes at least one chain configured to move over the drive shaft, the lower conveyor roller and the upper conveyor roller. The feeding system further includes at least one lower support arm coupled to the drive shaft and the lower conveyor roller and configured to pivot about the drive shaft axis. At least one force mechanism is configured to apply a force to the at least one chain in at least one of a first direction and a second direction.

A cleaning system for use in a combine harvester including an auger bed mounted within a frame such that when the combine harvester is laterally inclined from the horizontal, the cleaning system, including the auger bed and a sieve, may be leveled or substantially leveled to a generally horizontal position. The auger bed can include a plurality of augers located side by side with their axes positioned generally longitudinally in the combine harvester.

A safety stand is provided for minimizing the effect of hydraulic failure in an agricultural harvester. The safety stand has a series of notches along a longitudinal edge of the safety stand which are designed to accept and received a protrusion affixed to a cylinder of a hydraulic cylinder which raises and lowers a feeder arm. When the feeder arm is raised, the hydraulic cylinder is in the full upright position, the safety stand can be lowered such that the protrusion enters and is held within a notch to prevent accidental downward movement of the feeder arm. If the notch fails, or the safety stand is not properly engaged, the longitudinal edge of the safety arm is allowed to follow the protrusion, until a subsequent notch is reached, which then engages the protrusion, safely stopping the downward path of the feeder arm.

A combine threshing system includes a rotor having and in-feed area at a front end of the rotor and a rotor body configured to convey material along a helical path from the front end of the rotor body to a rear end of the rotor body. The system also includes a substantially cylindrical threshing chamber positioned circumferentially around and spaced apart from the rotor body. The threshing chamber includes a lower portion substantially concentric with the rotor body and having an inner surface positioned a first distance from an outer surface of the rotor body and an upper portion having a first inner surface substantially concentric with the rotor body and positioned the first distance from the outer surface and a second inner surface that is substantially concentric with the rotor body, positioned a second distance from the outer surface and is greater than the first distance.

A spreader assembly for a combine harvester is disclosed, the assembly including a pair of disks configured to be rotated such that chaff material dropped onto the disks is spread about the combine harvester, wherein each disk is operably connected to its own motor and a spreader frame assembly. The spreader frame assembly includes a first side support pivotably connected to a frame of the combine harvester, a second side support pivotably connected to the frame of the combine harvester, and at least one disk support configured to support at least one of the pair of disks. The spreader frame assembly further defines an opening configured such that when the combine harvester is windrowing material, no portion of the spreader frame assembly interferes with the flow of windrowing material.

A cage vane for use with a combine threshing system that includes (i) a mounting leg extending a mounting leg length from a cage vane inner edge to a mounting leg outer surface and a mounting leg thickness from a mounting leg bottom surface to a mounting leg top surface and (ii) a protruding leg extending a protruding leg length from the cage vane inner edge to a protruding leg top surface and a protruding leg thickness from a protruding leg inner surface to a protruding leg outer surface. At least one of the mounting leg length changes as the mounting leg extends the cage vane length, the mounting leg thickness changes as the mounting leg extends the cage vane length, the protruding leg length changes as the protruding leg extends the cage vane length, and the protruding leg thickness changes as the protruding leg extends the cage vane length.

Combine varying dimensional vane threshing system

A rotary element and a rotary element balancing system of a combine harvester. The rotary element includes a rotary member that rotates during operation and one or more blade mount assemblies. The rotary element also includes one or more auto-balance assemblies mounted to the rotary member to compensate for a mass offset on the rotary element due to the one or more blade mount assemblies being dislodged or broken. The one or more auto-balance assemblies include one or more tracks and one or more spheres located inside the one or more tracks and in contact with first and second bearing race edges. Loads are transferred from at least one of the first bearing race edge and the second bearing race edge, when the rotary member rotates, to the one or more spheres that self-align within the track to compensate for the mass offset on the rotary element.

Self balancing chopping or threshing rotor

A foreign object detection and removal system for an agricultural combine is provided. The system includes a controller operatively connected to a feederhouse and a chopper assembly. The feederhouse includes an acoustic element for detecting foreign objects and an actuator for opening and closing a door of the feederhouse to remove foreign objection. The chopper assembly includes an actuator to retract a knife bank to allow for the passage of foreign objects through the chopper assembly without causing damage to the chopper assembly.
