A touch screen panel is provided. The touch screen panel includes an Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) sensor glass layer, a window glass layer mounted above the ITO sensor glass layer by means of an Optical Clear Adhesive (OCA), a conductive layer disposed between a surface of the window glass layer and a surface of the ITO sensor glass layer that includes an electrode pattern, and a touch screen control unit mounted on one of the window glass layer surface and the ITO sensor glass layer surface on which the conductive layer is mounted.

An apparatus performs proximity touch sensing, and includes a shield layer, an electrostatic capacity touch panel disposed with a specific distance above the shield layer, and a proximity touch controller for sensing a non-contact touch by supplying a voltage to the electrostatic capacity touch panel and the shield layer and thus by forming a first capacitance.

An apparatus and method compensate for a touch error in an electronic device with a touch screen. A method for compensating a touch error includes identifying if a touch error takes place and, when the touch error takes place, compensating the touch error using at least one touch error compensation scheme among a noise reduction filter addition scheme, a touch sensibility adjustment scheme, and a touch frequency change scheme.
