According to various embodiment of the disclosure, there is disclosed an electronic device that includes a touch sensor that senses a touch, an actuator, a touch controller that generates a touch event based on a touch signal received from the touch sensor, and a haptic controller, wherein the haptic controller receives the touch event generated from the touch controller through direct communication with the touch controller and drives the actuator in response to the reception of the touch event. An electronic device and method thereof are provided. In one aspect, the electronic device includes a housing, a touch screen with edges, and one or more processors. First and second touch recognition regions are defined adjacent to one of the touch screen edges. The one or more processors determine whether to ignore a touch input based at least on whether the touch input is in one of the first and second touch recognition region and at least one of the type and the duration of the touch input.
