A connecting unit for fixing components in a breathing system includes a plug adapter () having a sealing element (). The sealing element () has a first peripheral fastening thickening (), a second fastening thickening () arranged at a distance to the first fastening thickening (), as well as an undercut () between the fastening thickenings (). The second fastening thickening () has an outer lead-in chamfer () for a receiving bore into which the plug adapter () along with the sealing ring () are inserted.

A filling device for an anesthetic dispenser has a closing element () that can be inserted into the filler neck () and can again be removed from same in a simple manner. A respiration system feeds an anesthetic gas having, a density &#x3c1;, with a Y-piece for connection to a patient, with a respiration circuit having an inspiration branch and an expiration branch, which extend away from the Y-piece. A first supply line from a branch in the expiration branch leads to an anesthetic gas discharge valve and a second supply line from the branch leads to a reservoir. A too high pressure, opposing expiration, cannot build up in the expiration branch and losses of anesthetic gas are kept to a minimum. A prestressing device exerts a prestressing force onto the valve body of the anesthetic gas discharge valve against the effect of gravity. The mass mand the prestressing force determine a threshold pressure in the anesthetic gas discharge line that results in an opening of the anesthetic gas discharge valve.

Respiration system

A respirator with a breathing gas block () and with breathing gas ducts () and with a heater has the electric components located outside of the breathing gas-carrying areas. A heated distributor plate is flatly in contact on the underside of the breathing gas block () and has heating ribs () that are in contact with breathing gas ducts () at least in some areas.

A breathing gas supply device is provided which can be taken apart for cleaning purposes. The breathing gas supply device has a modular design in the form of a breathing gas module () and a blower module (), which are inserted together into a housing module ().

A device for supplying a patient with breathing gas, which has a housing provided with gas ducts and a corresponding cover (), shall be improved such that the cover () can be manufactured in a simple manner and possesses good sealing properties. To accomplish the object, provisions are made for the cover () to consist of a one-piece, plate-like elastomer material and for groove-like depressions () extending in the direction of partitions () to be present as a seal for the gas ducts ().

Device for supplying a patient with breathing gas

A pressure-resistant tank for liquids includes a plurality of differently shaped diecast parts () made of a first aluminum alloy (cast alloy). The diecast parts () are connected by means of a closed weld seam welded with an electron beam with the use of a second aluminum alloy (wrought alloy). The second aluminum alloy has especially a hydrogen content of less than 0.2 mL per 100 g of wrought alloy. The tank for liquids is especially an anesthetic tank and the anesthetic is desflurane.

Pressure-resistant tank for liquids

An anesthetic tank () of an anesthetic dispensing unit is used especially for desflurane and has improved reliability of operation by mutually complementing level monitoring devices. The anesthetic tank () is equipped with a level tube () arranged in or on the outer wall with a connection line () into the interior space as well as with an optical level sensor (). The optical axis () of the level sensor () is located at the same level as a mark () on the level tube ().
