An ESD protection circuit for an IC having multiple diodes coupled in series between a signal pad and a reference pad including a first diode coupled to the signal pad, a last diode coupled to the reference pad, and at least one intermediate diode. The protection circuit includes a bias network which may include one or more resistors, each coupled in parallel with a corresponding intermediate diode. One or more capacitors may be included, each coupled in parallel with a corresponding intermediate diode. For diode strings with four or more diodes, the resistances of the resistors may increase in the direction from the signal pad to the reference pad. The capacitances of the capacitors, if included, may decrease in the direction from the signal pad to the reference pad. The reference pad may be a voltage supply pad, such as a ground pad or a positive supply voltage pad.

System and method of high speed, high voltage swing electrostatic discharge protection

An integrated circuit includes a tuner, a digital television (DTV) demodulator, an analog television (ATV) demodulator, and a controller. The tuner includes an input for receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal including at least one of an analog television signal and digital television signal, and including a first output terminal and a second output terminal. The DTV demodulator includes a DTV input coupled to the first output terminal of the tuner and includes a DTV output terminal. The ATV demodulator includes an ATV input coupled to the second output terminal of the tuner and includes an ATV output terminal. The controller is coupled to the tuner, the DTV demodulator, and the ATV demodulator to configure the tuner and at least one of the DTV demodulator and the ATV demodulator for receiving television content in a selected television format.

A technique for terminating a differential signal line substantially matches the output impedances of a first node and a second node of a differential node. The power dissipation is substantially less than twice the power delivered to a load impedance coupled to the differential signal line. The technique provides a peak-to-peak, single-ended output voltage on the differential output node that is substantially independent of integrated circuit manufacturing process tolerances. An apparatus includes a differential node coupled to provide a differential signal. The differential node includes a first node and a second node. A first single-ended termination circuit is coupled to the first node and responsive to a first reference voltage. The apparatus includes a second single-ended termination circuit coupled to the second node and responsive to a second reference voltage.
