A cell housing includes a first half section having a longitudinal side having a first end and a second end. A first lateral side extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal side from the first end. The first lateral side has a first tongue. A second lateral side extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal side from the second end. The second lateral side has a first groove. A second half section is identical to the first half section. The first and second half sections are coupled to each other such that the first tongue of the first half section is inserted into the first groove of the second half section and the first tongue of the second half section is inserted into the first groove of the first half section, forming a closed perimeter.

An apparatus includes a thermal strap that connects a first terminal of a first battery cell and a second terminal of a second battery cell. The thermal strap has high thermal and electrical conductivity. A wall link connects the thermal strap to a wall having high thermal conductivity. The wall link includes a first portion having high thermal and electrical conductivity and a second portion having high thermal conductivity but low electrical conductivity. The second portion is located between the first portion and the wall.

Structure and method for removing battery cell heat

A capacitor includes a plurality of electrode substrates, with each of the plurality of electrode substrates having a coated portion and an uncoated portion. The coated portion is coated with a coating material that includes a high surface area activated carbon material, a water soluble binder selected from the group consisting of: poly vinyl alcohol, poly acrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, polyethylene oxide, polyacrylamide, poly-N-isopropylearylamide, poly-N,N-dimethylacrylamide, polyethyleneimine, polyoxyethylene, polyvinylsulfonic acid, poly(2-methoxyethoxyethoxyethylene), butadiene-acrylonitrile, and combinations thereof, and a water soluble thickener. A separator is inserted between adjacent substrates of the plurality of electrode substrates. The capacitor further includes an electrolyte. A method of manufacturing the capacitor is also provided.
