An improved barrier light assembly is provided of the type wherein the lens subassembly is pivotable relative to the case subassembly. The assembly employs a limited field light source (preferably an LED with a field of about 34.degree.), and incorporates a self-orienting, lens coupled holding and positioning subassembly for such a light source whereby this light source remains fixed at the lens subassembly focal point with its emission center line extending along the lens center line regardless of the pivoted position of the lens subassembly.

A pavement marker structure and method for making same is provided wherein a pre-molded base block is clad with an in situ molded cap structure. Use of epoxy resins is avoided, and the pavement marker structure is durable and resists attack by moisture.

Pavement markers and method for making

A pavement marker structure and method for making same is provided wherein a pre-molded base block is clad with an in situ molded cap structure. One or two retro-reflective flattened reflectors are preferably mounted as insets between the base block and the cap structure. Use of epoxy resins is avoided, the pavement marker structure is durable and resists attack by moisture.

Pavement markers are provided that are equipped with installation tabs which permit marker storage vertically and which permit hand holding of the individual markers during installation. After a marker is installed, each tab is breakable adjacent to the marker upper surface in response to an applied small bending force. The tabs overcome the problem of installing pavement markers upon hot tar.

An improved power source includes a container means which is adapted to accept a plurality of polygonal dry cell batteries, with connector means able to contact their terminals regardless of their angular disposition.

Battery pack

An improved barrier light assembly is provided wherein a lens assembly composed of a pair of mating halves is secured to the upper portion of a base assembly by a threaded flanged collet. A peripheral outwardly extending integral neck of the lens assembly extends into the upper portion, and the collet threadably engages the neck. A pair of screw flights are employed which permits use of identical mating halves.

Barrier light assembly

A display device suitable for use in a bicycle reflector or the like incorporating a backing plate with integral mounting means and a bracket means slidably engageable into a locking engagement therewith. The device avoids the use of auxiliary tools in assembling bracket with backing plate and the device requires no auxiliary holding means such as a screw, rivet, adhesive or the like. A durable, reliable, locking engagement is achieved between backing plate and mounting means.

Display device

A wind resistant collapsible roadway signal assembly adapted for carrying in collapsed configuration in a truck, car, or the like for assembly and positioning along a roadway as a warning sign or the like when and if a vehicular breakdown occurs. The signal assembly includes an elongated base construction and a sign assembly supported therefrom. The sign assembly is demountably associated with the base construction; when assembled, the sign assembly upstands from a mid-portion of said base construction, and when disassembled, the sign assembly nests in an adjacent, parallel relationship relative to said base construction, all with the sign assembly so demountably associated with said base construction. A single resilient finger integral with the base construction functions both to lock the sign assembly position relative to the base construction and to demountably engage the sign assembly with the base construction.

Demountable two-component roadway signal assembly

Slab shaped bodies are individually prepared by machining and then are assembled into mold portions which portions are adapted for incorporation into a mold for forming cube-corner type retroreflective surfaces in a body formed by such a mold. Two such slab shaped bodies in side by side relationship cooperate to provide a plurality of individual cube corner type retroreflective units extending along adjoining top side edge wall portions of such bodies. A plurality of such slab-shaped body pairs are employable to provide a region of cube corner type retroreflective units. Such slab shaped bodies make possible a variety of new and useful retroreflectors.

Preformed electroforms are sliced into elongated slab shaped bodies having spaced generally parallel respective side walls so that an edge wall thereof has defined therein cube corner retroreflective units. When a plurality of such slab shaped bodies are positioned together to provide a region of cube corner type retroreflective units, there results a mold element which can be incorporated into a mold for making reflector units of transparent solid material or the like wherein angled retroreflective units and so-called standard retroreflective units are distributable over the entire face of a product reflector unit and from which air in the mold cavity can readily escape during filling in a molding operation.

A cube corner type retroreflector comprised of transparent solid material or the like wherein retroreflective units of preferably different types are distributable over the entire surface of a product reflector. Individual retroreflective units are arranged in row in such retroreflector and all of the cube corner retroreflective units in each row have substantially identical characteristics. In such a reflector, two different types of cube corner retroreflective units are distributable over the entire face of a product reflector unit instead of being grouped together into specific regions of retroreflective properties.

Reflector

A hanger for a bicycle reflector so as to maintain the reflective face of the reflector in a generally vertical position and which includes means that prevent the reflector from being incorrectly mounted on the bicycle.
