Surgical procedures, tools and implants are disclosed for both conventional and reverse shoulder implant surgeries. The improved procedures, tools and implants relate to humeral head resurfacing, humeral head resection for standard implants, humeral head resection for reverse shoulder implants, glenoid resurfacing for standard shoulder implants and glenoid resurfacing for reverse shoulder implants. 3D scans and x-rays are used to develop virtual models of the patient anatomy, identify patient specific landmarks for anchoring guide wire installation blocks, templates and drill guides. 3D scans are also used to design patient specific tools and implants for the shoulder implant procedures and to pre-operatively determine the appropriate inclination and retroversion angles.

Methods and devices for installing standard and reverse shoulder implants

A method of aligning implant components includes placing a first implant component in bone, followed by: coupling a first intermediate member to the first implant component; coupling a first alignment member to the first intermediate member; rotating the members as a unit to place the first intermediate member in an alignment position; removing the first alignment member from the first intermediate member; coupling a second alignment member to a second intermediate member; coupling the second intermediate member to the first intermediate member and rotating the second alignment member and the second intermediate member as a unit relative to the first intermediate member to provide a desired orientation of the second intermediate member. An alignment system for aligning first and second members includes a first alignment member having an offset channel dimensioned to receive the first member, and a second alignment member having a channel dimensioned to receive the second member.

Orthopedic prosthesis with suture anchor features

The present application is directed to an expandable intervertebral device. One context in which the device may be used is a corpectomy procedure to replace one or more vertebral members. The device is adjustable between a first orientation with a first overall height, and a second orientation with a second overall height. The device generally includes an inner member, an outer member, and a gear. Rotation of the gear causes relative movement between the inner and outer members to move between the first and second orientations and adjust the overall height.

Expandable intervertebral devices and methods of use

An elongated connecting element and system for dynamic spinal stabilization is disclosed. The connecting element and system provides for resistance to shear forces applied to the connecting element as well as provides for rotational stability of a resilient intermediate element disposed between two end members.

Connecting element and system for flexible spinal stabilization

A spinal stabilization rod includes a first rod portion having a proximal end and a distal end and having a first cross-sectional area. The second rod portion extends from the distal end of the first rod portion and has a second minimum cross-sectional area smaller than the first cross-sectional area. The second rod portion is formed of a first material and a different second material, with the first material being more resistant in shear than the second material. The implant also includes a slider portion disposed about and movable relative to the second rod portion.

Dynamic stabilization rod

The present application is directed to methods and devices that provide for asymmetrical movement of vertebral members. In one embodiment, first and second anchors connect the rod to the vertebral members. The rod may be fixedly connected to the first anchor, and movably connected to the second anchor. A limiting device may be positioned on one or both sides of the second anchor. The limiting device or devices control an extent of movement between the rod and the second anchor during vertebral motion. In one embodiment, the device controls an amount of flexion and extension of the vertebral members.

Spinal stabilization devices and methods of use

A dynamic stabilization system for use with a spinal motion segment includes a first bone anchor assembly, a second bone anchor assembly, a resilient element, and a sheath. The resilient element includes an end portion engageable with the first bone anchor assembly and a resilient portion engageable with the second bone anchor assembly. The resilient element provides resilient resistance when the first and second bone anchor assemblies are moved toward one another and provides no resistance and is separable from the second bone anchor assembly when the first and second bone anchor assemblies are moved away from one another. The sheath surrounds the resilient portion and articulation surface of the second bone anchor assembly.

A dynamic stabilization device, system, and method for use with a spinal motion segment includes a first bone anchor assembly, a second bone anchor assembly, a first articulation element and a second articulation element. The first articulation element includes an end portion engageable with the first bone anchor assembly, a first articulation surface, and a resilient element therebetween. The first articulation surface is separably engageable with a second articulation surface associated with the second articulation element. The resilient element provides resilient resistance when the first and second bone anchor assemblies are moved toward one another and provides no resistance and is separable from the second bone anchor assembly when the first and second bone anchor assemblies are moved away from one another.

A stair-adjustable crutch characterized by an adjusting cuff having a cone with an elongated or extended, flared and offset lip and lip receptacle provided in the crutch foot to facilitate selective angular adjustment of the crutch foot and frame from an aligned configuration. This adjustment is effected by manipulation of a rod fitted with a pair of spaced-apart, wishbone-shaped legs extending into the cone, which legs are provided with shaped tabs or locks for selectively entering and exiting spaced-apart sets of vertical and angled slots in the cone of the adjusting cuff. Up and down movement of the adjusting rod facilitates both selective conventional operation of the crutch with the crutch foot in linear alignment, and angling of the crutch frame and upper crutch foot at the adjusting cuff with respect to the crutch foot below the adjusting cuff, to adjust the user's weight and more safely ascend and descend steps and stairs. A method for angularly adjusting a crutch frame and upper crutch foot with respect to the lower crutch foot by providing an adjusting cuff having a cone with an elongated, flared lip and lip receptacle in the crutch foot and a rod and lock mechanism that interacts with the adjusting cuff to facilitate more safely climbing and descending steps and stairs.
