An input system according to one aspect of the present disclosure comprises an electronic pen having a pen tip; and an electronic device configured to detect a pointed position of the electronic pen based on a detection signal received pursuant to an approach by the pen tip toward the electronic device. The electronic device includes: a planar sensor configured to acquire the detection signal; a flexible cover provided above the planar sensor and exposed to the outside; an actuator configured to displace the cover at each of multiple positions in an area defined by the planar sensor in at least a direction normal to the planar sensor; and a drive controller configured to perform drive control of the actuator so as to form local unevenness at a position of the cover corresponding to the pointed position of the electronic pen.

Input system and input method

A stylus includes a processor that acquires first coordinate values in a pen coordinate system at an occurrence position of a pen event detected by a pen sensor and acquires second coordinate values in a device coordinate system at the occurrence position of the pen event. The processor uses a plurality of sets of coordinate value pairs to determine conversion parameters for converting coordinates from the pen coordinate system into the device coordinate system and uses the determined conversion parameters and a measured amount of movement of the stylus to calculate coordinate values of the stylus in the device coordinate system.

Stylus and position calculation method

Disclosed is a beacon for allowing a user to wirelessly manage software applications of a computing device and plurality of vehicle's sensors. The beacon includes a housing, a touch sensor to identify tap from the user, a bi-directional communication unit to wirelessly bi-directionally communicate with the computing device and the vehicle's sensors on receiving tap from the user, a memory unit to store plurality of modules and plurality of instructions, wherein each instruction corresponding to each tap and a processor coupled to the memory unit and configured in the housing to process the plurality of modules. System for allowing a user to wirelessly manage software applications of a computing device and plurality of vehicles sensors

The present invention discloses a power management apparatus and method for devices comprising an interface module that includes receivers for receiving input signals from a device, an auto power management unit coupled with receivers for determining a state of the input signals, and outputting a power management signal based on the determined state of the input signal. Further provided is an electronic unit coupled with the auto power management unit for driving driver units, with the power management signal toggling ON/OFF a status of the electronic unit based on the determined state of the input signal to thereby reduce power utilization.

Automated power management for electronic devices

A semiconductor circuit for driving a load, comprising a transformerless Alternative Current (AC) to Direct Current (DC) converter integrated circuit that includes a high voltage circuit fabricated on a substrate for converting a high voltage AC input signal to a first high voltage DC output signal. Further included is a second circuit fabricated on the same substrate for regulating a drive signal for driving a load using power from the first high voltage output signal, with the high voltage circuit and the second circuit fabricated on the substrate to form a single integrated circuit (IC) chip.

Integrated circuit device using substrate-on-insulator for driving a load and method for fabricating the same

Circuit and method for determining the presence of a load in a circuit including on a charge pump. The circuit monitors the state of a pump signal indicative of the operating status of the charge pump. The circuit generates a signal indicating the presence or absence of a load. The signal is used to deactivate features of an associated device, thereby reducing the power consumption and extending the life of the power supply (e.g., battery) for the device.

Charge pump load determination circuit

A circuit and a method are presented which allow for the detection of an active communication device connected to the circuit. The circuit output signal can be used to reduce the power consumption of related equipment when communication is not detected for a predetermined period of time. The circuit includes a plurality of input terminals coupled to respective inactive detection blocks. The circuit also includes an accumulated delay block having delay circuits in serial electrical communication. Each inactive detection block provides a signal to a respective delay circuit that indicates whether the corresponding input terminal is connected to an active driver in the communication device. Each delay circuit provides a delayed output signal to a subsequent delay circuit. The accumulated delay block provides an output signal indicating the presence or absence of the communication device based on the activity at the input terminals over the predetermined period of time.

Connection detection circuit and method

A V.35 compliant driver is disclosed. The driver has three operational modes: OFF, low power (approximately 1/3 full power), and full power. The driver is placed in an appropriate mode based on conditions sensed at driver outputs. More particularly, the driver turns OFF upon sensing a short circuit condition, and reverts back to a normal operating condition following cessation of the short circuit condition by transitioning through a low power mode. Innovative approaches for satisfying V.35 source impedance measurement requirements and driver termination are also disclosed. All of the components associated with the driver reside on a single integrated circuit.

V.35 network terminator

A programmable charge pump produces a selected one of a plurality of bipolar output voltages in response to a pump select input signal. Transistor switches in the charge pump are controlled by logic circuitry so as to provide the selected bipolar output voltages. The charge pump may include a power management circuit to optimize power consumption by varying the clock frequency based on the current being drawn by the load. The charge pump may be fabricated as an integrated circuit which supports a plurality of interface standards requiring different bipolar supply voltages.

Programmable charge pump

A cooking device, comprises a base; a fulcrum mounted on the base; a support for carrying a pan, the support being mounted on the fulcrum and including first and second portions extending respectively from each side of the fulcrum a substantial distance; device for mounting the pan on the first portion; and an actuator operably associated with the second portion for periodically accelerating and decelerating rapidly the first portion about the fulcrum between first and second positions, thereby causing the pan to move upwardly and downwardly with the first portion and propel food placed therein into the air upon rapid upward deceleration and downward acceleration of the first portion and causing the food to be turned for uniform heating of different portions of the food.

Automatic food cooking device

A device for catching roaches and other insects utilizing an electric shock to catch or kill such insects is disclosed. An electrical integrated circuit utilizing automatic on and off switching is used to enable roaches and insects to enter the device and then periodically shock them and kill them. The design provides safety, efficiency and lower cost without environmental pollution thereby permitting use around small children and pets. The device includes a cover which admits roaches and insects into the device and which includes openings that are sufficiently small to prevent entry of a child's hand or a pet's paws. When the cover is removed, a microswitch automatically cuts the electrical circuit off. The device includes a housing in which is located a conical downwardly and inwardly sloping surface on which is carried a helical pair of conductors connected to the electrical circuit. When a voltage pulse is applied to across the conductors, any roaches or other insects which are in contact with the conductors are shocked and fall downwardly toward the bottom of the cone, which opens into a container partially filled with water to drown the insects.

Insect trap

A food cooking device for cooking Oriental dishes is disclosed comprising a base and a cooking pan support means pivoted to the base. An acceleration and deceleration means is provided for rapidly accelerating upwardly from a starting position to at least the rear portion of the support means at an initial high velocity followed by a subsequent rapid deceleration, whereby when the cooking pan is positioned on the support means, it will move upwardly with the support means and propel food placed therein into the air upon rapid deceleration of the support means, thereby causing the food to be turned for uniform heating of different portions of the food.
