Embodiments include implantable neurostimulation leads configured to reduce current leakage following implantation in a patient's body, and methods of manufacturing such leads. A lead includes a lead body with proximal apertures and distal apertures; a lumen extending through the lead body; electrodes at a distal portion of the lead body and connector interfaces at a proximal portion of the lead body; conductors extending through the lead body, with their proximal ends exiting via respective proximal apertures to couple with a respective connector interfaces, and their distal ends exiting the interior of the lead body via respective distal apertures to couple with a respective electrodes; and an electrically nonconductive filler element for occupying gaps in the interior of the lead body resulting from the exit of conductors from the lead body.

Neurostimulation leads with reduced current leakage

Devices and methods for providing neurostimulation to a patient, particularly in trial systems assessing suitability of a permanently implanted neurostimulation, are provided herein. In one aspect, a trial neurostimulation lead includes a coiled conductor coupled to a proximal contact connector having a retention flange that withstands tensile force from tension in the lead so as to maintain the electrical connection during a trial period. In another aspect, a trial neurostimulation system includes a lead extension that includes a regression stopper between the implanted distal connector and proximal lead disposed outside the body to prevent regression of the lead through a secondary incision, thereby preventing infection and facilitating explant of the system. Methods of assembling and utilizing such leads and systems are detailed herein.

Neurostimulation leads for trial nerve stimulation and methods of use

Devices and methods for providing neurostimulation to a patient, particularly in trial systems assessing suitability of a permanently implanted neurostimulation. Such trial systems can utilize a trial neurostimulation lead that includes a coiled conductor coupled to a proximal contact connector that is coupled with an external pulse generator. The trial neurostimulation lead can be a coiled conductor of a closed wound configuration that can be stretched to form an open coil portion or gaps between adjacent coils to provide more resistance to migration or regression of the lead.

A press felt is provided including a non-woven base fabric material formed of a first fabric structure, with the first fabric structure including an array of MD yarns connected with at least one layer of a hot melt adhesive web material and at least one layer of a non-woven backing. The non-woven backing includes a layer of a first yarn system and a layer of a second yarn system oriented transverse to the first yarn system. At least one of the first and second yarn systems includes a low melt temperature adhesive that is heat activated and binds the first and second yarn systems together. The nonwoven base fabric material has an MD length and CD width and is arranged in two superimposed layers joined by the MD oriented yarns at CD oriented fold regions at each of two opposing ends thereof.

Anchoring devices for affixing an implanted lead at a target location in a patient are provided herein. Such anchoring devices include a helical body having a plurality of tines extending laterally outward from the lead when deployed that engage tissue to inhibit axial movement of the implanted lead. The plurality of tines are biased towards the laterally extended deployed configuration and fold inward towards the lead to a delivery configuration to facilitate delivery of the lead through a sheath. The tines may be angled in a proximal direction or in both proximal and distal directions and may include various features to assist in visualization and delivery of the lead.

Implantable lead affixation structure for nerve stimulation to alleviate bladder dysfunction and other indication

Anchoring devices and methods for affixing an implanted lead of a neurostimulation system at a target location in a patient are provided herein. Such anchoring devices includes a helical body having a plurality of tines extending laterally outward from the lead when deployed that engage tissue to inhibit axial movement of the implanted lead. The plurality of tines are biased towards the laterally extended deployed configuration and fold inward towards the lead to a delivery configuration to facilitate delivery of the lead through a sheath. The tines may be angled in a proximal direction or in both proximal and distal directions and may include various features to assist in visualization and delivery of the lead. The anchor may be formed according to various methods, including laser cutting of a tubular section along with heat or reflow to set the material with the anchor in the deployed configuration and injection molding.

A seamless press felt is provided having inner and outer base fabric layers, which can be woven or non-woven, having an MD length and CD width, each including at least a first array of MD oriented yarns and being formed as a continuous unbroken tube structure. An elastic intermediate yarn assembly with parallel and regularly spaced CD yarns, each bonded to an elastic carrier material, is formed as a continuous unbroken tube structure, and is 'socked' between the inner and outer base fabric layers. The elastic intermediate yarn assembly has an MD length that is from 1% to 10% less than the MD length of the press felt prior to assembly and is elastically stretched during assembly between the inner and outer base fabric layers. At least one batt layer needled through the inner and outer base fabric layers and the elastic intermediate yarn assembly to fornt he press felt.

Seamless press felt with intermediate elastic carrier layer

A seamed press felt formed from a base fabric material including MD yarns arranged in two superimposed layers joined by the MD yarns at CD folds at opposing ends thereof to form a continuous unbroken tube-like structure. The MD yarns form loops at the folds to define a pintle channel. A generally planar yarn assembly including an array of polymeric yarns bonded to an elastic carrier material that is extensible by at least 1% is located inside the base fabric with the yarns of the array oriented in the CD. A high surface contact area material is bonded to the elastic carrier material at both exterior MD ends adjacent to the MD loops at the folds. Each of the MD ends is anchored in a fixed position adjacent to the loops at the folds. A pintle extends through the channel defined by intermeshing the loops from the opposing ends.

Seamed press felt including an elastic carrier layer and method of making

A multi-axial seamed base fabric is provided that is formed from a spirally wound fabric strip having a width less than an overall width of the fabric that is joined together along neighboring adjacent edges of the strip to form a fabric tube. The fabric strip includes a plurality of generally linearly extending vertically stacked pairs of machine direction (MD) warp yarns interwoven with cross-machine direction (CMD) weft yarns in a repeat pattern which maintains the vertically stacked alignment of the paired MD warp yarns. The fabric tube includes an upper layer and a lower layer formed from the spirally wound fabric strip that are adjacent to one another in the base fabric. The ends of the base fabric are formed by CMD folds in the fabric tube, with the MD warp yarns of each of the upper and lower layers being in a generally vertically stacked alignment within both of the layers adjacent to the ends to provide at least some continuously extending ones of the outer warp yarns between the upper and lower layers at the folds. Seaming loops are formed from at least some of the continuously extending ones of the outer MD yarns located at the CMD folds in the fabric tube. A method of producing such a fabric is also provided.

An apparatus for the creation of a spiral coil by extruding a hollow tube and cutting the tube in a fixed plane relative to the tube is provided. A fabric made from such spiral coils is also provided.

A papermaker's fabric having a system of primary machine direction yarns which form seaming loops at each end of the fabric and a system of secondary machine direction yarns. A system of cross-machine direction yarns are interwoven with the primary and secondary systems of machine direction yarns in a weave pattern that provides adjacent balancing yarns that maintain the seam loops in substantially vertical alignment.

A multilayer papermaking fabric having interwoven machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CMD) yarns, the CMD yarns defining at least upper and lower CMD yarn subsets which are interwoven with the MD yarns in a repeat pattern such that the MD yarns have substantially more interweavings with the upper CMD yarn subset than with the lower CMD yarn subset. The upper subset CMD yarns define sheetside floats over at least seven MD yarns and each MD yarn interweaves with only two upper subset CMD yarns in a given repeat.
