Described herein are a channel, system and method for monitoring voltages. Typically, the system includes multiple channels, each for sampling one of the voltages. The channels are physically and electrically coupled to a back end board on which is mounted a field programmable gate array (FPGA) that instructs the channels to simultaneously sample the voltages. Optionally, the channel is powered using an power supply that is isolated from the back end board, and transmits information over an electrically isolated connection to the back end board. The channel also includes voltage signal processing circuitry for processing the voltage signal on board the channel, and has stored on it channel identification information composed of at least one of an operating mode of the channel and a serial number of the channel, which can assist with voltage signal processing.

A data exchange system comprising a device memory module, a device antenna, a device transceiver system comprising a device transceiver module and a device antenna, a power manager, a first switch operable in a first state and a second state, and a power supply for providing power to the device memory module, the device transceiver, and the power manager. When the first switch is in its first state, the device memory module and the device transceiver do not consume sufficient power from the power supply to allow the transfer of data between the device memory module and the host memory. When the first switch is in its second state, the device memory and the device transceiver consume sufficient power from the power supply to allow the transfer of data between the device memory module and the host memory using the host transceiver system.

Systems and methods for transmitting data using near field communications

A button assembly for exchanging data comprising a button housing assembly, a circuit board, a switch element, and an actuator member. The circuit board is arranged within the button housing assembly. The circuit board stores data. The switch element is mounted on the circuit board. The actuator member is supported on the button housing assembly. Application of a force to the actuator member causes the actuator member to engage the switch element and form an antenna circuit. The data on the circuit board can be downloaded when the antenna circuit is formed.

Systems and methods for storing and transferring personal data

A data exchange system that exchanges data with a host device comprising controller and a host housing comprises at least one button assembly and a button reader system. The at least one button assembly comprises an encoder for storing data, a button coil, and a switch. Closing the switch forms an antenna circuit. The button reader system comprises a decoder and at least one reader coil defining at least one button position on the host housing. When the at least one button assembly is arranged at the at least one button position, the controller of the host device causes the decoder to obtain data from the encoder through the button coil and the reader coil when the switch is closed.
