In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, devices, and program products for modifying interactions between a mobile device and a peripheral device based on proximity. The mobile device monitors a wireless communication channel and receives a transmission from the peripheral device over the channel indicating that the mobile device is located within a first zone of proximity to the peripheral device. The mobile device determines distance values between the devices. When the mobile device determines that a distance value satisfies a threshold value, the mobile device visually indicates that it is within a second zone of proximity to the peripheral device. As a result of the mobile device receiving data from the peripheral device using a second communication protocol, the mobile device determines that it is located within a third zone of proximity to the peripheral device, and performs an action.

Modifying the type of interaction between a mobile computing device and a peripheral device based on proximity

A computing system can implement a computer-implemented method for providing selective control of an acoustic environment of a user. The computer-implemented method can include determining a selected audio source of a plurality of audio sources in an environment of a user based at least in part on a selection user input at a peripheral device, where the peripheral device is in communication with the computing system. The computer-implemented method can include receiving a configuration user input at the peripheral device, where the configuration user input is indicative of an intent to configure an audio characteristic associated with the selected audio source. The computer-implemented method can include, in response to receiving the configuration user input, configuring the audio characteristic associated with the selected audio source based at least in part on the configuration user input.

Systems and methods for control of an acoustic environment

A method includes receiving, by a first computing device () and from a second computing device (), using a short-range wireless communication unit of the first computing device (), data including state information of the second computing device () and identification information for the second computing device (). The present disclosure provides systems and methods that include or otherwise leverage an artificial intelligence system and/or provide user interface mechanisms particularly suited for interacting and/or interfacing with an artificial intelligence system. A computing system can include a camera, a light-emitting device, and an artificial intelligence system that comprises one or more machine-learned models. The computing system can include a processor and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media that stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to obtain an image of a scene captured by the camera; generate an attention output that describes at least one region of the scene that includes a subject of a processing operation performed by the artificial intelligence system; and control the light-emitting device to emit light onto or adjacent a region of the scene that includes the subject of the processing operation performed by the artificial intelligence system.

Systems and methods for interacting and interfacing with an artificial intelligence system

The disclosure provides for an audio accessory that includes earbuds or earphones, an input device, and a processor. The input device includes a first button and optionally includes additional buttons or touch sensors. The processor is configured to initiate an action when a first input is received at the first button, provide audio updates when a second input is received at the first button, and prepare the input device to receive audio input when a third input is received at the first button. Also, the processor is configured to silence a currently playing audio message and initiate playing a next audio message when a fourth input is received at one of the buttons or the touch sensors, and silence and mark the currently playing audio message for no further playback when a fifth input is received at one of the buttons or the touch sensors.
