In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) is positioned within a driver operation zone of a vehicle, one or more UE-based user interfaces (UIs) are restricted and forwarded to a vehicle-based UI controller to permit access to the one or more UE-based features via a vehicle-based UI. In another aspect, the UE in the driver operation zone is engaged in hands-free speakerphone mode via a vehicle audio system of the vehicle, and an attempt to transition the UE to handset-based audio mode is blocked. In another aspect, when a handset-based audio capture and/or playback attempt of the UE is detected, the UE interacts with a vehicle audio system to temporarily reduce volume being output by one or more proximal speakers. In another aspect, the UE streams media to a media presentation device in its own zone or another zone of the vehicle for presentation thereon.

This disclosure describes methods, techniques, devices, and apparatuses for graphics and display processing for light field projection displays. In some examples, this disclosure describes a projection display system capable of rendering and displaying multiple annotations at the same time. An annotation is any information (e.g., texts, signs, directions, logos, phone numbers, etc.) that may be displayed. In one example, this disclosure proposes techniques for rendering and displaying multiple annotations at the same time at multiple different focal lengths.

Systems and methods for reducing the bandwidth required to transmit video streams related to faces re described herein. In some aspects, contour information from face recognition technology is captured at a transmitting device and sent to a receiving device. The contour information may be used to reconstruct the face at the receiving device without the need to send an entire video frame of the face.

The methods, systems, and apparatus are capable of capturing an image of a verification pattern that has been reflected from a defined region of interest of a user's eye. The captured image can be compared to the emitted verification pattern to determine whether the captured reflection matches the emitted pattern and is within the region of interest to verify a live user of an electronic device.

The apparatus and method for displaying video data are disclosed. Reference refresh frequency and/or time may be predetermined or derived from predetermined values. Measured refresh frequency and/or time of display panels may be determined and compared against the reference refresh frequency and/or time. Based on the comparisons and through one or more control loops, display properties of the display panels may be adjusted so that one or more display panels may be in sync with respect to their refresh timings without dedicated hardware or a common hardwired synchronization signal.

The present disclosure discusses methods and apparatus for controlling the video playback in a video playback system. In particular, a method for controlling video playback includes receiving a flip call to display video data from a flip queue buffer. Processing of the video data is then initiated. Flip acknowledgement information is issued in response to receiving the flip call information and prior to completion of the processing of video data to be displayed from the flip queue buffer. By issuing flip acknowledgement information regardless of whether the processing of the video data has been completed, video flip calls can continue to be issued at a constant rate and other processing can continue without waiting, thus resulting in better and smoother video playback and economizing processing resources. Additionally, a decision whether or not to drop a particular video frame is made based on whether a flip queue buffer from a predetermined number of flip queue buffers is available. The disclosed apparatus includes a flip manager, such as under the control of a driver, that controls the timing of video frame flips, rather than an application controlling the timing.

A method and method and apparatus for data re-arrangement includes the steps of receiving output pixel coordinates (X, Y) and obtaining an input pixel offset value (&#x394;S, &#x394;T), wherein the output pixel coordinate represents a location for a two dimensional matrix. The input pixel offset value is obtained in reference to initial input pixel coordinates (S, T) which may be received with the output pixel coordinates or calculated based on the input and/or output pixel coordinates. The input pixel offset value may be any type of representation that provides for a delta value, for example, (&#x394;S, &#x394;T) may represent a shift representation for the offset within a matrix array. A video playback circuit receives flip call information and vertical synchronization information, and in response determines a pause mode and a playback mode. Flip call information, as is known in the art, provides an indication for flipping between a front buffer and a back buffer, in order to facilitate rendering into one buffer while rasterizing out of the other buffer. Vertical synchronization information describes the completion of rasterizing an image onto a display, and often occurs at periodic intervals, e.g., 60 Hz, 100 Hz. The video playback circuit further includes a pause/playback-based frame buffer pointer information generator. The pause/playback-based frame buffer pointer information generator generates unfiltered frame buffer pointer information when in the pause mode. Otherwise, the pause/playback-based frame buffer pointer information generator generates filtered frame buffer pointer information when in the playback mode. The unfiltered frame buffer pointer information indicates rasterization of unfiltered rasterization data from the frame buffer during the pause mode. Similarly, the filtered frame buffer pointer information indicates rasterization of filtered rasterization data from the frame buffer when in the playback mode.
