Apparatus for sealing pavement joints or seams are disclosed. The apparatus includes a wheeled support platform which serves to mount a cylindrical storage container suitable for holding a selected amount of an asphaltic emulsion sealing composition. An applicator is coupled to the bottom of the storage container and controls are provided to selectively vary the volume of the stream of sealing composition and to permit the stream to be completely extinguished. In order to prevent the asphaltic emulsion sealing composition from breaking down or settling out during application an agitator device is provided which propels the sealing composition upward from the bottom of the storage container and mixes the sealing composition. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention the agitator device is gear driven in response to movement of the wheeled support platform.

Apparatus for sealing pavement seams

A method and apparatus for sealing pavement joints or seams is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wheeled support platform which supports an airtight container of sealant composition which hardens upon contact with the atmosphere. A second airtight container includes a supply of water or other liquid. An air compressor is mounted upon the wheeled support platform and compressed air is selectively coupled to the containers of sealant composition and water. An oil film on the surface of the sealant composition is utilized to prevent it from hardening while in the container. A third output of the air compressor and outputs in the water and sealant composition tanks are coupled to a wheeled applicator which is adapted to be moved over the pavement seam. Compressed air is utilized to blow debris out of the pavement seam and a water mist and bead of sealant composition are pneumatically forced through the applicator from the respective containers in response to the selective application of compressed air to the containers.

Method and apparatus for sealing of pavement seams

A composition and method of its use for stabilizing plastic soils which composition comprises from about 25 to about 85 weight percent portland cement, from about 0 to about 75 weight percent of a filter and from about 0.1 to about 5 weight percent of a retarding agent.
