Intervertebral stabilising device

Stabilization systems for stabilizing one or more vertebral levels are provided. The systems include anchors engageable to the vertebrae and an elongate connecting member system that maintains distraction between the vertebrae while allowing at least limited vertebral motion of the stabilized vertebral levels. The stabilization systems can be employed alone in non-fusion procedure or in conjunction interbody fusion and/or postero-lateral fusion procedures. The connecting members are structured to maintain a constant or slightly variable distance between the anchors to which the connecting members are connected while the connections of the connecting members with the anchors allow motion.

One embodiment includes at least a fixed element designed to be secured to a vertebra or sacrum, at least a mobile linking element and at least an intermediate element that articulates the mobile element relative to the fixed element. The intermediate element is received in an internal volume of the mobile element and is deformable, so as to be introduced by impingement into the inner volume. The fixed element is received at least partly in an internal volume of the intermediate element and has a position for use wherein said fixed element has three degrees of freedom in rotation, but is linked in translation, relative to the intermediate element.

Intervertebral linking device

The present invention is related to an intervertebral stabilizing device structured to connect two adjacent vertebrae. The device includes an upper stop element engageable with an upper vertebra and a lower stop element engageable with a lower vertebra. The stop elements include mutual support surfaces adapted to allow a mutual rotation of the upper and lower vertebrae about the patient's transverse and sagittal axes and to prevent a mutual rotation of the two vertebrae about a vertical axis. The support surfaces are further adapted to allow mutual translation of the vertebrae in a single direction along the sagittal axis and to allow translation between the two vertebrae in both directions along a vertical axis. Additionally, the support surfaces are also adapted to prevent translation between the two vertebrae in both directions along the transverse axis.

A dynamic orthosis device for the tridimentional reduction of scoliosis wherein two elastically deformable plastic hands joined at the anterior laterally enclose the thorax of the patient. The hands assembly is connected to a pelvic girdle by at least two lateral supports made of elastically deformable semirigid material. As the rear of the hand, which are not attached, are expanded outward due to the movement of the thorax patient the lateral supports provide a torsional return stress which forces the hands to create a pressure on the body of the patient. This pressure is beneficial in reeducating the spine of the patient and thereby reducing scoliosis.
