A surge protector includes a coaxial through-section having a through inner conductor and a through outer conductor, a stub having a stub inner conductor, a stub outer conductor, a first end and a second end. The stub is coupled to the coaxial through-section, wherein the stub inner conductor is conductively coupled to the through inner conductor at the first end of the stub, and the stub outer conductor is conductively coupled to the through outer conductor at the first end of the stub. The stub inner conductor is substantially hollow and having at least one helical aperture disposed therein. A charge elimination device conductively coupled between the stub inner conductor and a grounding device, and a radio frequency short circuit bypass is electrically coupled between the stub inner conductor and the stub outer conductor. A DC injection port is also conductively coupled between the stub inner conductor and the stub outer conductor.

A surge protector includes a coaxial through-section having a first inner conductor and a first outer conductor and a stub having a second inner conductor and a second outer conductor. The stub has a first end and a second end, the stub being coupled to the coaxial through-section, wherein the second inner conductor is conductively coupled to the first inner conductor at the first end of the stub and the second outer conductor is conductively coupled to the first outer conductor at the first end of the stub. The second inner conductor is substantially hollow and has at least one helical aperture disposed therein. A charge elimination device is conductively coupled between the second inner conductor and a grounding device. A radio frequency short circuit bypass is electrically coupled between the second inner conductor and the second outer conductor.

Broadband surge protector for RF/DC carrying conductor

Termination and junction assemblies for flat strip transmission line links are shown to include a protective cover, an electrically conductive ground sleeve, a spring signal contact and a double-sided adhesive pad. A flat strip transmission line link is inserted into the ground sleeve until the contact is applied to the signal conducting strip of the link. At that time, the ground sleeve is in electrical communication with the primary signal ground carrier and the ground conducting strips of the flat strip link. The termination assemblies further include a coaxial cable receptacle that receives a coaxial cable transmission line link to establish electrical communication between its inner conductor and the contact and between its outer conductor and the ground sleeve. On the other hand, a second flat strip link is inserted into the ground sleeve of the junctions until the contact establishes a pressure contact with the signal conducting strip of the second flat strip link to establish electrical communication between the signal conducting strips of the two links and the ground strips of those links. In either case, the cover is snap-fitted to the ground sleeve and the double-sided adhesive pad is mounted to the sleeve to permit the assembly to be mounted to its installation site.

A distributed strip-type radiating cable comprised of a plurality of generally flat conductive strips disposed in substantially parallel relationship to one or more generally flat dielectric materials, adapted to radiate RF energy for communications applications. The radiating cable is designed to be efficiently and inexpensively manufactured and installed from lightweight, small size materials, and is designed to be easily attached and secured to a variety of surfaces.

Strip-type radiating cable for a radio communication system

A coaxial radiating cable comprised of a plurality of conductive strips wrapped in coaxial relationship to a center conductor and separated by a dielectric core. The plurality of conductive strips define in combination an outer conductor of the radiating cable and have a width and wrap angle selected to form apertures along the cable in a desired pattern, size and/or shape. The cable is designed to be efficiently and inexpensively manufactured and is designed to be coiled and uncoiled without significant distortion.
