A tractor-mounted front loader includes a parking stand mounted to each of a pair of downwardly and forwardly inclined arm sections coupled to an implement resting on the ground. Each parking stand includes a support leg and a brace, the latter having a rear end pivotally mounted to a location approximately halfway between opposite ends of the support leg and an forward end pivotally mounted to a lower region of an associated loader arm section. The support leg and brace may be stored on the loader arm section by folding them together with a catch carried by the brace becoming releasably engaged with the support leg. The folded support leg and brace are then pivoted against the loader arm section and secured to it by a releasable latch which secures the top of the support leg to the arm section to establish a stored position.

A front loader arrangement includes a bracket, a mounting mast mounted on upper and lower bearings of the bracket, a loader arm which is articulated to a first pivot pin on the mast, a loader support articulated to a second pivot pin on the mast, and a locking device for locking the mast to the bracket. The locking device is arranged on the loader support. The locking device includes a pivoting locking bar which is mounted on a third pivot pin on the loader support, a pre-tensioning device which pre-tensions the locking bar depending on its position relative to the loader support into an open or a closed position, and an adjusting device arranged on the mast which can be brought into engagement with the locking bar, by which the locking bar can be moved into the closed position.

A loader mast-to-mounting frame pin arrangement is provided. The pin arrangement has stops added to a shaft that allow the pin to be held in two positions: the locked position and the parked position. In the locked position, a unique slot cut in the mast plate retains the pin by not allowing an eccentric protrusion on the shaft from passing through the slot when the pin is rotated to place the shaft in the top of the slot. When the pin is rotated so the shaft is towards the bottom of the slot, the eccentric protrusion is allowed to pass through the mast plate and the pin can be pulled out until it hits another protrusion on the shaft. At this point, the pin will stay in the mast but the loader can be removed from the tractor. To prevent the pin from rotating by itself, when in the locked position, and the loader coming unlatched, a spring loaded knob engages in the slot which prevents the shaft from being able to rotate to the unlocked position. To operate, the knob is pulled back away from the mast and then the shaft can be rotated.

A parking stand arrangement for a tractor-mounted front loader includes a parking stand mounted to each of a pair of arm sections which are inclined downwardly and forwardly to a carried implement resting on the ground. Each parking stand includes a support leg and a brace, the latter being about half the length of the former and having a rear end pivotally mounted to a location approximately halfway between opposite ends of the support leg and an forward end pivotally mounted to a lower region of an associated loader arm section. The support leg and brace may be stored on the loader arm section by folding them together with a catch carried by the brace becoming releasably engaged with the support leg. The folded support leg and brace are then pivoted against the loader arm section and secured to it by a releasable latch which secures the top of the support leg to the arm section to establish a stored position. Movement of the parking stand from the stored position to a parked position includes the steps of releasing the latch and then the catch from the support leg and then unfolding the support leg and brace so that a hook at the top of the support leg is engaged with a mounting pin fixed to the loader arm section and a foot carried by the leg is engaged with the ground at a location rearward of the loader center of gravity.

A tool level indicator is provided. The tool level indicator has a rod sliding in a coiled wire cylinder, with one end having an enlarged helical hook that can be slid onto an actuator barrel when at a substantial right angle to the actuator, then tightens on the actuator barrel as the coil is rotated and attached to the upper actuator pin. The upper coils are spaced such that a particular set of closely wound coils indicates a first tool level at ground and a second particular set of closely wound coils indicates a second tool level at ground when the tip of the rod aligns with the second particular set of closely wound coils.

A work machine includes a frame and a front latch system carried by the frame at a front end of the work machine. The latch system includes a pair of laterally spaced, generally horizontally oriented slots, with each slot defined by an upper edge and a lower edge. The upper edge is longer than the lower edge and extends forward of the lower edge. A loader includes a pair of laterally spaced braces, with each brace having a distal end configured for contacting the ground when the loader is detached from the frame. A cross member coupled between the braces is received within the slots of the front latch system.

An arrangement for the attachment or detachment of a loader assembly or similar implement from a tractor includes a first member adapted to be received by a tractor, a second member adjustably connected to the first member, the second member adapted to receive the implement, and a third member also adapted to be received by the tractor, the third member mounted to the first member for movement between first and second positions relative to the tractor, movement of the third member from its first position into its second position causing transformation of the third member into an upright portion that assists in stabilization of the first and second members and the implement against the ground.

Arrangement for the attachment or detachment of an assembly to a base structure

A rotary cutter includes a hitch comprising upper and lower arm sections which define a parallel linkage extending between the deck of the rotary cutter and a ball clevis forming a forward end of the hitch. The ball clevis includes identical upper and lower halves which include block-like rear portions that are clamped together so that a ball is releasably retained between ring-like front portions of the clevis. Leveling of the deck is accomplished by a pair of adjustable leveling mechanism respectively coupled between rear parts of the separate arm sections and the deck. Provision is made for mounting a jack stand to one side of the clevis and for storing the jack stand on the deck.

A towed rotary cutter includes a self-leveling hitch equipped with a parking stand mounted in a centered position beneath the hitch. Through the operation of the leveling links, the hydraulic lift cylinder that is used for raising and lowering the ground wheels of the cutter relative to the cutter frame is also used to manipulate the hitch, once the parking stand is placed in its park position, so as to remove the weight of the hitch from the tractor drawbar when unhitching the tractor from the rotary cutter, or to place the hitch clevis at the correct height for connecting it to the tractor drawbar when hitching the cutter to the tractor. In a first embodiment, the parking stand is constructed for use with a hitch having a feature for automatically maintaining the clevis in a horizontal attitude. In a second embodiment, the parking stand includes a clevis support which is oriented for supporting the clevis in a horizontal attitude when the parking stand is in its park position, but is moved so as to permit free pivotal movement of the clevis when the parking stand is in its stored position.

A flex wing rotary cutter includes wheel axles on each of the center and wing deck frames which are linked together for simultaneous rocking by a lift cylinder coupled between the center deck frame and the center axle. Each of the support wheels of the cutter is mounted to a spindle carried at the rear end of a rocker arm that is pivotally attached, at a location between its ends, to a rear location of a respective strut cantilevered from one or the other of the axles. An air spring is coupled between the strut and a forward end of the rocker arm and a shock absorber is coupled between the rocker arm and the strut at a location between the air spring and the connection of the rocker arm with the strut.

Self-leveling hitch and clevis assembly

A deck for a rotary cutter includes upper and lower deck walls configured together with vertical aprons and wheel support plates at the opposite sides of the deck to form a box structure. Three gear box supports are welded within three pairs of vertically aligned holes respectively provided in the upper and lower deck walls. The upper deck wall is shaped generally convex in fore-and-aft, vertical cross section and is free of ledges formed from framework of stringers so that debris tends to fall off and water tends to run off the deck.

A rotary cutter includes first and second pairs of blades pivotally mounted to opposite ends of a first blade holder, with the first pair of blades being spaced vertically above the second pair of blades. A third pair of blades for enhancing the shredding characteristic of the cutter are mounted to the opposite ends of a second blade holder having a longitudinal axis disposed perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the first blade holder. The third pair of blades are located to operate at a height in between the respective heights of operation of the first and second blades and are located to trace a path which is radially inward from that traced by the first and second blades. The second blade holder is mounted to the first blade holder exclusive of the drive shaft to which the first blade holder is coupled and may be removed or assembled without disturbing the mounting of the first blade holder.

A front-end loader includes a pair of loader arms and features a parallelogram-shaped plate assembly associated with each arm and having first and second corners respectively pivotally mounted to the forward end of a respective loader arm and to an implement carrier holder and having third and fourth corners respectively pivotally coupled to levelling and tilt linkage assemblies. A tilt cylinder is mounted between the tilt linkage assembly and the parallelogram-shaped plate assembly. The parallelogram-shaped plate assembly serves to transfer levelling linkage and tilt cylinder inputs to an implement carrier holder coupled to a mounting bracket at the rear side of a bucket.

An implement includes a clevis assembly connected to the forward end of the implement hitch for limited fore-and-aft movement to permit holes in the clevis and of a tractor drawbar to become aligned for receiving a hitch pin, a latch then being operable to prevent further fore-and-aft movement of the clevis. First and second parallel legs of the clevis are provided with holes in which are received first and second bushing portions respectively of first and second jaws. The bushing portion of the first jaw is threaded and the hitch pin has a threaded end received therein, the pin being operable to move the first jaw towards the second jaw so that the jaws may tightly clamp a drawbar located therebetween.
