Herbicidal compositions are provided which cause rapid symptomology while delivering long term control of regrowth of plants. The herbicidal concentrate compositions comprise N-phosphonomethylglycine or a herbicidal derivative thereof, an auxin herbicide or a herbicidal derivative thereof, and at least one surfactant. Also provided is a method for killing or controlling the growth of certain plants by contacting the foliage of the plants with the diluted concentrate composition.

Herbicidal compositions containing N-phosphonomethyl glycine and an auxin herbicide

A process is provided for preparing a glyphosate salt solution that comprises potassium and IPA cations in a desired mole ratio, and that has a glyphosate a.e. concentration not less than about 400 g/l. The process includes adding glyphosate acid to a glyphosate potassium salt solution having a glyphosate assay of at least about 40% a.e. by weight, to form a slurry. The process also includes introducing isopropylamine, in an amount sufficient to neutralize the added glyphosate acid, to the slurry with mixing until all glyphosate is dissolved, to form a mixed glyphosate salt solution comprising potassium and IPA cations in the desired mole ratio.

Glyphosate salt herbicidal composition

A herbicidal composition is provided comprising an aqueous solution of N-phosphonomethylglycine, predominantly in the form of the potassium salt thereof, at a concentration of at least 300 g a.e./l of the composition; and a surfactant component in solution or stable suspension, emulsion, or dispersion in the water, comprising one or more surfactants in a total amount of about 20 to about 300 g/l of the composition, wherein the composition has a viscosity of less than about 250 centipoise at 0&#xb0; C. or a Gardner color value less than 10.

Surfactants and formulations

The invention includes aqueous compatibilized pesticidal formulations and methods of making them. In typical embodiments, formulations comprise a first electrolytic pesticide and a second electrolytic pesticide, and about 30 to about 300 g/L of at least one alkyl polyglycoside. The invention also includes methods of preparing pesticidal formulations to increase the concentration of the electrolytic pesticides. The invention also includes storage and transport systems containing formulation embodiments. The invention also includes methods inhibiting pests.

Compatibilized electrolyte formulations

A herbicidal composition comprises in aqueous solution a mixture of salts of glyphosate at a total glyphosate a.e. concentration not less than about 360 g/l, wherein (a) said glyphosate is in anionic form accompanied by low molecular weight non-amphiphilic cations in a total molar amount of about 100% to about 120% of the molar amount of said glyphosate; (b) said cations comprise potassium and propylammonium (e.g., isopropylammonium) cations in a mole ratio of about 70:30 to about 90:10; and (c) said potassium and propylammonium cations together constitute about 90 to 100 molar percent of all of said low molecular weight non-amphiphilic cations in the composition.

The present invention generally relates to a process for preparing the alkoxylated alkylamines and/or alkyl ether amines. The process consists of three stages, and utilizes an alkali catalyst. The alkoxylated alkyl amines and alkoxylated alkyl ether amines prepared by the process possess the peaked distribution and contain less hazardous by-product.

Potassium glyphosate formulations

An emulsifiable pesticidal suspension concentrate composition is provided comprising (a) a pesticidally effective amount of a liquid pesticide of low solubility in water, for example a chloroacetamide herbicide such as acetochlor, (b) a pesticidally effective amount of a solid particulate pesticide, more particularly a salt-forming pesticide, for example a glyphosate herbicide, in solid particulate form, dispersed in the liquid pesticide, (c) a stabilizing amount of a suspension aid, (d) an emulsifying agent in an amount sufficient to emulsify the concentrate composition in a suitable volume of water to form a dilute sprayable composition, and (e) zero to an assay adjusting amount of an inert liquid in which the liquid pesticide is soluble or miscible. The concentrate composition is substantially non-aqueous. The liquid and solid pesticides are selected to be chemically compatible with each other. By substantial elimination of water and inert organic solvents according to the invention, suspension concentrate compositions can be provided having a very high concentration of active ingredients.

Stable concentrated pesticidal suspension

There is provided a concentrate herbicidal composition comprising a first herbicide selected from glyphosate and glufosinate, a second herbicide that is a chloroacetamide, e.g., acetochlor or metolachlor, and a third herbicide that is a triazine, e.g., atrazine, wherein the composition is a suspoemulsion having an aqueous phase, an oil phase, and particles dispersed in the aqueous and/or oil phases, and is stabilized by a stabilizing amount of one or more emulsifiers. Also provided is a method of use of a composition of the invention for killing or controlling weeds in a field.
