A bean roasting system includes a roasting chamber, a blower, a variable diverter and a controller. The roasting chamber, the blower and the variable diverter each is disposed at least partially within a recirculating gas flow path. The blower is configured to provide a flow stream of gas through the recirculating gas flow path. The variable diverter is configured to split the gas flow path into at least two flow paths including a treated flow path and a bypass flow path. The treated flow path includes a series arrangement of a gas heater and a catalytic converter. The variable diverter is configured to control a percentage of a flow stream of gas that is diverted into the bypass flow path. The controller is configured to activate different predetermined operating modes for the bean roasting system by controlling a state of the variable diverter and a state of the heater.

An apparatus, methods, systems, and computer program products are provided that can detect touch events on touch panels in a more effective and less costly manner. According to an embodiment, a touch system includes a touch panel and a plurality of radiation sources located at a first edge of the touch panel. The intensity of light emitted from each of the plurality of radiation sources is modulated with a respective modulation frequency. The touch system further includes an optical receiver that is located at a second edge of the touch panel and is configured to receive the light emitted from each of the plurality of radiation sources.

A method of detecting touch events on a touch panel includes identifying sets of coordinate locations based on at least one signal from at least one sensor. The at least one signal is responsive to at least one touch event, and the coordinate locations represent matches with respect to template fingerprints. The predetermined calibration file comprises audio profiles associated with coordinate locations on the touchscreen.

A method of detecting a touch event on an acoustic fingerprint based touch system comprises digitizing at least two signals to form first and second sets of digitized signals. The at least two signals are received from at least two sensors on a touch panel. A frequency transform is performed upon the first and second sets of digitized signals to form first and second frequency transform data sets of frequency components. At least first and second live fingerprints are constructed wherein at least one of the first and second live fingerprints is based on the first and second frequency transform data sets. A touch location is identified based on the at least first and second live fingerprints.

A method for detecting a touch event on a touch panel comprises obtaining at least first and second signals from at least two sensors where the at least first and second signals are responsive to a touch event. A magnitude ratio is determined between the first and second amplitude magnitudes, and a touch location is identified based on the magnitude ratio.

A resistive touchscreen system comprises a substrate, a coversheet and a controller. The coversheet comprises a first conductive coating and the substrate comprises a second conductive coating. A touch sensor for a touch system includes a housing having a light sensing window, a light blocking section, and a reference window, the light sensing window and the reference window configured to allow light to pass therethrough, the light blocking section configured to prohibit light from passing therethrough, a rotating assembly disposed within the housing, and a light sensor. The rotating assembly is configured to transmit light received from the light sensing window and the reference window to the light sensor, and the light sensor is configured to output a signal that is utilized to identify an angular location of a touch. A touch system including such touch sensors is also described herein.
