An infrared heater for use in an agricultural setting, particular for use in poultry houses, is provided that includes a burner assembly supported by an opposing pair of generally T-shaped end plates. The heater further includes a pair of emitter assemblies having a parabolic configuration that are each supported by an elongated emitter support. The emitter assemblies surround an inner core member assembly that in part define burn chambers. The heater includes a pair of end deflector members that together with the parabolic inner surfaces of the emitter assemblies direct infrared heat outwardly and downwardly in a wide and generally quadrilaterally shaped heat footprint.

The invention provides for a brooder having a cylindrical emitter and a burner head. The cylindrical emitter is formed from a flat piece of stainless steel which is manipulated in order to secure one end thereof to another end thereof, thereby allowing for reduced costs in packaging and shipping of the brooder and for easy assembly of the emitter after shipping. The burner head is formed of top and bottom plates which are secured together by port spacers of the bottom plate having tabs which extend through apertures of the top plate, and which are folded downwardly toward the top plate.

A radiant heater is configured to be positioned above a floor at a predetermined distance and to produce a generally quadrangular zone of heat within a predetermined temperature range, preferably between approximately eighty-five degrees Fahrenheit and one-hundred degrees Fahrenheit, on the floor. The heater includes an elongated burner assembly, an inner cone member, at least one emitter assembly and end plates which define a combustion chamber. The emitter assembly is configured to direct heat produced within the combustion chamber downwardly and outwardly to the floor to form the generally quadrangular zone of heat. A canopy is provided which directs heat heading upwardly and outwardly back downwardly toward the floor and toward the emitter assembly. A reflector pan is positioned below the burner and the emitter assembly and assists in directing the heat from the emitter assembly toward the floor. A blower assembly may be incorporated into the heater.

A grill having a bi-level tent configuration, a burner assembly and a grill shell. The lower, first tent has an &ldquo;I&rdquo;-shaped configuration. The upper, second tent has a plurality of openings. The burner assembly is formed from stamped metal. The upper piece of stamped metal has a raised or embossed area with multi-level ports. The burner and tent arrangement provides even distribution of heat to the cooking surface and flare-up control. The use of stamped metal for the burner assembly provides for a cost efficient and easy to assemble grill.

A grill side burner assembly including a burner having a generally disc-shaped body with an oval cross-section. Louvered main ports are arranged around the upper part of the burner body and create a cyclone-like distribution of heat to the cooking surface thereby improving efficiency. A fuel feed channel is formed integrally into a lower portion of the burner and provides fuel to the interior of the burner body. The burner can be attached to the bottom of a bowl-like recess in a side-burner base and covered with a grid. The side burner assembly can be implemented with a very low parts count.

An improved ignition system for igniting combustible gas used in cooking and other types of devices. The ignition system includes an ignition mechanism having a spark generator that is electrically connected to two electrodes. When the spark generator is activated, a spark is produced between the electrodes which ignites combustible gas emanating from a burner. The ignition system also includes a lighter tube assembly having a lighter tube that extends from a main burner to secondary burners. The lighter tube is connected to a dual valve which provides gas flow to both the lighter tube and to the main burner. An ignition mechanism is provided which ignites the gas emanating from both the main burner and lighter tube, thus enabling the secondary burners to subsequently be ignited via the lighter tube.

Barbecue grill

An electric grill which vaporizes grease and juices and sears the food being cooked. The grill has two sets of heating elements, one located directly beneath the cooking surface and the second located proximate a smoker box. The grease and juices fall from the food located on the cooking surface onto the bottom of the grill which channels the grease and juices into the smoker box. The bottom of the grill also functions as a reflector plate to redirect heat towards the cooking surface. The grease, juices, and, optionally, wood chips may vaporized and smoked by the heating element located proximate the smoker box. A printed circuit board regulates the current passing through the heating elements.

A gas burner, specifically a gas burner for cooking grills. The burner comprises and elongated conduit member having an upper portion of a generally inverted V-shape, a lower portion defining burner ports angled such that the flame caused by burning gases escaping from the burner port does not impinge upon the lower portion. The cross-section of the elongated conduit member burner provides an increased volumetric flow rate which does not require gas pressure equalization means to provide uniform heat generation across the length of the burner.
