An electronic component includes a housing having an inlet section, a mid-section, and an outlet section, mounting components for mounting the housing within an electronics cabinet, at least one movable louver positioned in at least one of the inlet section, the mid-section, and the outlet section, an actuator configured to manipulate the at least one movable louver to vary a volume flowrate of airflow through the housing, and a controller configured to operate the actuator to one of substantially maintain an environmental condition change from the inlet to the outlet within a predetermined range and substantially restrict airflow through the housing when the electronic component is in a relatively low operational state.

An enclosure for housing electronic equipment comprises a cabinet for receiving the electronic equipment and a cooling system, wherein the cooling system comprises a coolant circulation system including a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and at least one fluid coupling device in fluid communication therewith, at least two heat exchange units, each heat exchange unit comprising a liquid-cooled heat exchanger in fluid communication with the coolant circulation system via the at least one fluid coupling device and each heat exchange unit including at least one blind mating sleeve, and at least one fan positioned to blow air across the heat exchanger, the cabinet including at least one guide pin for facilitating blind connection of the heat exchange unit to the fluid coupling device, the guide pin being positioned so as to be received in a blind mating sleeve when the heat exchange units are mounted in the cabinet.

System for hot swapping heat exchangers

A technique is provided for coupling and uncoupling modular devices with electronic and computing devices. A latch is coupled to a release member, which operates to release the latch from a mate latch by bending the release member to move the latch laterally away from the mate latch. The release member also may have grips for tool-lessly bending the release member to release the latch from the mate latch, and for removing the desired device. The technique also may embody a modular device having the latch and release member, or it may embody an overall system having the modular device disposed in a receptacle.

Low profile latch activator

A technique is provided for coupling and uncoupling device boards for a computer system during any operational state of the computer system. A tool-free latch assembly is provided for coupling a device switchboard and the device boards to a mounting structure of the computer system. The tool-free latch also may have a transparent portion for transmitting light from a device status light to interior and exterior areas of the computer system. A non-mechanical switch also may be utilized in conjunction with the tool-free latch assembly to control power to the device boards.

Tool-less coupling system for electronic modules

A cable management system for organizing and controlling cables extending from an electronic device while providing substantially unimpeded device access, substantially unrestricted cable movement and substantially unrestricted air flow into and out of the device. The system attaches to a secure structure and is capable of boxing out from the structure to allow access to service a device positioned within the secure structure. The cable management system includes at least three cable arms of rigid material, a coupling member attached between each adjacent pair of the at least three cable arms, where the coupling member provides movement between each of the adjacent pairs of cable arms.
