A method of producing an assembly for use in a structural element of a fiber-reinforced material includes providing a core element including an inner core and a circumferential cover, the core element having an end part; producing a subassembly by receiving and centering the end part of the core element into a conforming end recess of a bolt fixture; fixing the bolt fixture to the end part of the core element in the subassembly by circumferentially covering the subassembly with a casing formed of cured fiber-reinforced resin; and machining the subassembly circumferentially covered within the casing.

Method of producing an assembly for use in a fibre reinforced structural element

A method of producing a fibre reinforced structural element including a plurality of fittings for the fixation of the element to another structural element, includes the steps of: (i) providing a core element of fibre reinforcement material having an end part; (ii) mounting a fitting on the end part to produce a subassembly; (iii) fixating the fitting to the end part in a pultrusion process that includes covering the subassembly in fibre-reinforced resin that is then cured; (iv) machining the subassembly to provide a fitting assembly including the core element and the fitting; (v) repeating steps i-iv for producing a plurality of fitting assemblies; (vi) positioning the plurality of assemblies according to the position of the plurality of fittings; and (vii) producing the structural element including the plurality of fittings constituted by the plurality of assemblies in an extrusion, pultrusion, or fibre reinforcing production technique.

Method of producing a fibre reinforced structural element

An elongate structural member comprising a structural outer shell and at least one arcuate or diagonal reinforcing member within. The structural member is used in structural, semi-structural or cladding applications to carry floor loading, walkway loading, wheeled loading, pressure loading in buildings, bridges and other loading carrying applications. An elongate structural member has an outer shell formed by first and second flanges joined to first and second external webs to have a cross-section in the form of a parallelogram. The first and second external webs are mutually parallel and inclined at an acute angle to the first and second flanges with the flanges being mutually parallel. At least one reinforcing web extends between the first and second flanges within said outer shell. The reinforcing web or webs are inclined to the flanges at the same acute angle as the first and second external webs but in the opposite direction. The structural member is made of a composite material comprising long fibers embedded in a polymeric matrix.
