The present description provides an ear muff attachment assembly. An exemplary ear muff attachment assembly () includes a housing (), an ear muff (), an arm () having first and second end regions, the first end region positioned within the housing and the second end region attached to the ear muff, and a spring () engaged to the housing and the first end region of the arm. The arm is rotatable about a first axis of rotation between a first position and an intermediate position, and about a second axis of rotation between the intermediate position and a second position.

The present invention provides a hearing protector comprising two ear cups which are designed to cover the ears of the wearer of the hearing protector, and sealing rings () which are secured along the peripheries of the ear cups, the sealing rings each displaying at least one circumferential lamella (), being manufactured from a resilient, possibly elastic material, and being formed to sealingly abut, around the wearer's ears, against the wearer's head, wherein the lamella (), at least along its edge regions located most proximal the wearer's head, display portions () which, in a direction towards the wearer, are arched from a central region () in the sealing ring () out towards its periphery ().

Hearing protector

A hearing protector comprises a hearing hood (), a microphone (), a loudspeaker and an amplifier. The hearing hood () has passive noise damping. The microphone () is disposed exteriorly on the hearing protector, while the loudspeaker is disposed inside the hood. The amplifier amplifies and transmits the signals from the microphone () to the loudspeaker. The noise damping of the hearing hood () is broad band. The frequency range of the amplifier corresponds to the frequency range of human speech. The amplification of the amplifier is variable and the greatest amplification is such that the sum total of the sound levels that are caused, on the one hand, by ambient sound passing through the hood () and, on the other hand, by sound from the loudspeaker amounts to a maximum, predetermined value.

A snap-in attachment of a headband or other support means for a hearing-protection cup is described. The snap-in contact comprises a sliding pin (6) the journal section (7) of which is oval or elliptical in cross section, and a jaw element with two resiliently deformable jaws (11, 12). The inner walls (21, 22) of the jaws (11, 12) and the wall section (20) connecting them define a locking space (13). The journal section (7) of the sliding pin can be inserted into the locking space (13) against a resilient counter member only in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the journal section (7) and is thus lockable between the jaws (11, 12) in a first locked position. After being turned (angle .alpha.) against another resilient counter member, the sliding pin is locked by its journal section (7) in the locking space (13) in a second locked position, in which it is pivotable to a limited extent (sector with angle .beta.).

The visor arrangement of the present invention includes a visor element and support apparatus to support the element in a pivotable state between a lowered, operative position and a raised, inoperative position on a protective helmet or other holder which can be applied on the user's head. The support apparatus is a pair of support arms, each consisting of two detachably connectable parts pivotable in relation to each other. One of the parts is provided with a laterally protruding journalling-pin element, while the other is provided with a laterally running through-opening into which the journalling pin can be inserted. The pin, due to the action of flange members arranged at its free ends and protruding laterally, is detachably retained in a state with limited pivotability about a first pivot point defined by a first longitudinal part hereof, to be turned about this point between two predetermined, stable positions corresponding to the two stated positions of the visor element, during displacement of an opposite second longitudinal part of the journalling-pin element along an abutting flexible wall portion of the opening. This second longitudinal part of the journalling-pin element defines a second pivot point for the journalling-pin element about which this can be turned from one of the two predetermined positions to a free position in which it can be removed from the opening.
