The invention relates generally to field grading materials and, more particularly, to field grading materials including graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, or both, exhibiting non-linear resistivity. In one embodiment, the invention provides a composite material comprising: a polymer material; and reduced graphene oxide distributed within the polymer material.

Graphene oxide polymer with nonlinear resistivity

An electrical insulation system includes a first insulation layer having a first polymer and a first filler in the form of nanoparticles, and a second insulation layer including a second polymer and a second filler in the form of either chromium oxide, CrO, iron oxide, FeO, or a mixture of chromium oxide and iron oxide. At least one of the insulation layers is in the form of a solid and flat sheet. An insulation system combining the first insulation layer with well dispersed nanoparticles and the second insulation layer filled with CrOparticles and/or FeOparticles.

Electrical insulation system

An electrical conductor provided with an electrical insulation system surrounding the conductor, the insulation includes a first insulation layer surrounding the conductor and a second insulation layer surrounding the first insulation layer. The second insulation layer includes a second polymer and a second filler in the form of chromium oxide (CrO), iron oxide (FeO), or a mixture of chromium oxide and iron oxide, wherein the first insulation layer includes a first polymer and a first filler including dispersed nanoparticles.

Electrical conductor with surrounding electrical insulation

A high voltage surge arrester, including a varistor element arranged so as to be connected to a high voltage source and to carry a high voltage when being positioned in its operative position, and an electric insulator that encloses and is in contact with the varistor element and forms an outer surface of the apparatus, wherein the electric insulator includes a silicone-based rubber. The silicone based rubber includes particles chosen from the group consisting of AlO, BN and ZnO, to such an extent that the thermal conductivity of the silicone-based rubber is equal to or above 0.8 W/mK.

High voltage surge arrester

An electric insulation device, including a chamber and an electrically insulating element formed by a cast polymer solidified into an elastic state inside the chamber. The electrically insulating element includes a plurality of particles of a ceramic that has a higher thermal conductivity than the one of the polymer.

Electric insulation device and an electric device provided therewith

A high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is disclosed and includes a high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber as a silicone base and melamine cyanurate as a filler and at least one inorganic filler which is different from melamine cyanurate, and optionally further additives. A total filler content can be within a range of 40 parts (by weight) to 230 parts (by weight) per 100 parts (by weight) of silicone base; wherein (i) the melamine cyanurate is present within a range of 2 parts (by weight) to 40 parts (by weight) per 100 parts (by weight) of silicone base; and (ii) the at least one inorganic filler is an electrical insulator.
