A method for identifying a person using a mobile communication device, having a camera unit adapted for recording three-dimensional (3D) images, by recording a 3D image of the person's face using the camera unit, performing face recognition on the 2D image data in the recorded 3D image to determine at least two facial points on the 3D image the of person's face, determining a first distance between the at least two facial points in the 2D image data, determining a second distance between the at least two facial points using the depth data of the recorded 3D image, determining a third distance between the at least two facial points using the first distance and the second distance, and identifying the person by comparing the determined third distance to stored distances in a database, wherein each of the stored distances are associated with a person.

Security by Z-face detection

A portable electronic equipment comprises an image sensor configured to capture a series of frames in a time-sequential manner and a processing device coupled to the image sensor and configured to process the series of frames. The processing device is configured to perform an image segmentation for respectively each frame of at least a subset of the series, to respectively identify a section of the frame representing a given object. The image segmentation is respectively performed based on a depth map for the respective frame. The identified sections are superimposed to generate a sequence image.

Portable electronic and method of processing a series of frames

A device and method for image manipulation is provided. The image manipulation may be performed as a function of a three dimensional user input and image or application specific data regarding the displayed image to be manipulated. The three dimensional input may be in the form of a two dimensional position on a touch screen and a measured force in the third dimension. The image or application specific data may be in the form of a maximum depth value indicating the maximum depth of the displayed image. The system may be configured to adjust the image based on a percentage of the measured user input force and a threshold force. The image may be adjusted based on the percentage and the maximum depth.

An electronic device includes a first touch panel disposed on a first side of the device. The first touch panel receives a first touch input. The electronic device further includes a display disposed on the first side of the device, and a touch interface disposed on a second side of the device, where the second side is different than the first side. The touch interface receives a second touch input. A control unit receives an indication of the first touch input from the first touch panel and receives an indication of the second touch input from the touch interface. The control unit further determines alterations to a three dimensional view of the display in the x, y and/or z directions based on the first touch input, and rotates the three dimensional view on the display angularly in accordance with movement of the second touch input.

A power adapter includes a primary side for receiving power from a mains power supply; a secondary side for providing operating and/or charging power, derived from the primary side, to an electronic device connected to the secondary side; presence logic for determining whether the electronic device is connected to the secondary side; and switching logic for turning off the primary side automatically when the presence logic determines the electronic device is not connected. The power adapter thus shuts itself down if no electronic device is attached, and automatically starts itself up when a device is connected to the power adapter and is thus needed. The power adapter may also include voltage detection logic that detects when the device is fully charged. The power adapter also shuts itself down when an attached electronic device becomes fully charged, and automatically starts itself up when the charged state of the electronic device falls below a predetermined level. While shut down, the power adapter consumes either no power or very little power. The power adapter may wake itself up and provide power to a device even in the event the device itself is without power, such as when the device is turned off and/or has a flat or dead battery.

A connector for an electric power supply device is disclosed. The connector is arranged to mate a corresponding connector at an apparatus to which the electrical power supply device is arranged to supply electrical power, wherein the connector comprises at least one electrical contact; a housing having a first part arranged grippable by a user when the user connects or disconnects the connector to the device, and a second part slidably arranged with the first part; at least one electrical contact arranged on one of said first or second part, wherein a first force for connecting the at least one electrical contact to the corresponding mating connector is higher than a second force for causing sliding between said first and second parts; and a switch arranged to be actuated based upon relative positions of said first and second parts, wherein said switch is arranged to electrically control connection and disconnection of an electrical power input of the electric power supply device. A power supply device is also disclosed.
