A CO2 capture system includes an intake for CO2-rich exhaust gas to a compressor and one or more outlets for compressed, first CO2-rich gas to a manifold to a shell enclosing parts of a combustion chamber. The combustion chamber has burners to burn fuel and compressed air from a fuel line and an air supply pipe, to form a second, CO2 rich gas. The wall in the combustion chamber has slits to let in the compressed CO2-rich gas to mix with and cool the other CO2-rich gas formed in the combustion chamber of a third CO2-rich exhaust gas. A heat exchanger operates under high pressure and heat exchanges the third, hot CO2-rich exhaust gas from the combustion chamber with returning CO2-poor exhaust gas from a CO2 extraction plant. The returned, heated CO2-poor exhaust gas is led back to an expander driving the compressor and the CO2 extraction plant.

Carbon dioxide capture system comprising a compressor and an expander and a method of using such a system

A carbon capture system includes a CO2-containing flue gas from any CO2 producing source connected to a first flue gas compressor of a gas turbine with a corresponding first turbine expander and a generator driven by said gas turbine. The gas turbine includes a first burner and a second burner, wherein the second burner utilizes at least a non-carbon fuel such as Hydrogen (H2) or Ammonia (NH3), so as for increasing a temperature of a first relatively hot compressed CO2-lean flue gas to a second relatively hotter compressed CO2-lean flue gas for being fed into said first expander.

Carbon capture system comprising a gas turbine with two burners

A ship with a flue gas carbon dioxide capture and storage plant has a main engine such as a slow running diesel engine providing flue gas. The flue gas is led via a flue gas heat exchanger with a thermal fluid exit to a re-boiler and arranged for cooling said flue gas. Further cooled flue gas is led into a turbine compressor compressing it up to a compressed flue gas. A combustion chamber is provided with a fuel feed and a pre-mix gas burner for afterburning said compressed flue gas which also burns remaining methane from the diesel engine, resulting in hot afterburned compressed flue gas enriched in CO. The CO2-absorber () leading said CO-enriched absorber solution to a CO-stripper (), operating at e.g. 1 Bar and exporting CO2 to a CO2-compressor () to a CO-export line () to onboard COpressure tanks.

Ship with a carbon dioxide capture system

A four-lobe cargo tank for transporting and/or storage of liquefied gases includes four main lobes, each with a cylinder sector outer shell and main lobe axis. The four main lobes are arranged with the four main lobe axis axial-parallel with and about a common main central axis, such that the four main lobes are joined by four web frames with four corresponding diagonally arranged perforated bulkheads directed outwardly from the main central axis. The tank includes a first and a second end cover. Each end cover includes four quarter spherical shell portions, each forming an end portion of the cylinder sector outer shell. The quarter spherical shell portions of the first and second end covers, respectively, are joined and closing toward the main central axis by a first and a second four diagonally arranged cylindrical 45-degree cut pipe portions, which are each arranged with its axis transverse to the main axis.

Four-lobe cargo tank for transporting and / or storage of liquified gases

A method and a plant for capturing CO2 from an incoming flue gas. The flue gas can be exhaust gas from coal and gas fired power plants, cement factories or refineries. The incoming exhaust gas is cooled, mixed with air and compressed, and thereafter introduced into a combustion chamber together with gas and/or liquid fuel. Part of the combustion is achieved by separate burners with cooling/combustion air feed with a volume equal to the volume of CO2 captured. Said burners will elevate the temperature in the combustion chamber allowing combustion of exhaust gas with low oxygen content. CO2 is captured at high partial pressure before expansion by the gas turbine to produce power and generate steam in the heat recovery unit. The gas turbine will operate with high efficiency close to design parameters with respect to inlet temperature, pressure and flow.

A plant for generation of steam for oil sand recovery from carbonaceous fuel with capture of COfrom the exhaust gas, comprising heat coils (&#x2033;) arranged in a combustion chamber () to cool the combustion gases in the combustion chamber to produce steam and superheated steam in the heat coils, steam withdrawal lines () for withdrawing steam from the heat coils, an exhaust gas line () for withdrawal of exhaust gas from the combustion chamber (), where the combustion chamber operates at a pressure of 5 to 15 bara, and one or more heat exchanger(s) () are provided for cooling of the combustion gas in line (), a contact device () where the cooled combustion gas is brought in countercurrent flow with a lean COabsorbent to give a rich absorbent and a COdepleted flue gas, withdrawal lines () for withdrawal of rich absorbent and COdepleted flue gas, respectively, from the contact device, the line () for withdrawal of COdepleted flue gas being connected to the heat exchangers () for heating of the COdepleted flue gas, and where the rich absorbent is regenerated an absorbent regenerator (), the regenerated lean absorbent is recycled to the absorber (), and a gas withdrawal line () connected to the absorber for withdrawal of COand steam from the regenerator (), is described.

Oil sand production without CO2 emission

A method for separation of COfrom the combustion gas from a thermal power plant fired with fossil fuel, wherein the combustion gas from the thermal power plant is used as cooled, compressed and reheated by combustion of natural gas in a combustion chamber to form an exhaust gas, where the exhaust gas is cooled an brought in contact with an absorbent absorbing COfrom the exhaust gas to form a low COstream and an absorbent with absorbed CO, and where the low COstream is heated by means of heat exchanges against the hot exhaust gas leaving the combustion chamber before it is expanded in turbines, is described. A plant for performing the method and a combined plant is also described.

Purification works for thermal power plant

A method for the generation of electrical power from a carbonaceous fuel, wherein the fuel is combusted in presence of oxygen under increased pressure in a combustion chamber is described. The exhaust gas from the combustion is separated into a COrich fraction that is handled so that it does not escape to the surroundings, and a COdepleted fraction that is expanded over one or more turbines to power other processes and/or generation of electrical power, before the gas is released into the surroundings, where the temperature in the combustion chamber is reduced under the generation of steam that is expanded over steam turbines connected to electrical generator for the generation of electrical power. Additionally a thermal power plant for the performing of the method is described.
