Techniques are provided to enable use of more than two preamble group Bs during random access (RA) for connected UEs. This flexibility is achieved by configuring the active BWP to overlap with the 2-step RA resources on the initial BWP, configuring different sizes of preamble group B in the initial BWP and the active BWP, a allowing connected UEs in the active BWP to use the MsgA PRACH and MsgA PUSCH resources in the initial BWP without switching active BWP.

The first grant and the second grant are overlapping. The method comprises determining a prioritized one of the first grant and the second grant and constructing a Medium Access Control (MAC) Protocol Description Unit (PDU) for the prioritized grant of the first grant and the second grant. According to certain embodiments, a method performed by a network node comprises transmitting a first grant and a second grant to a wireless device. The first grant and the second grant are overlapping. The method comprises receiving a transmission from the wireless device on a prioritized one of the first grant and the second grant.

Multiple grant handling in mixed services scenarios

According to certain embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a first grant and a second grant from a network node. The first grant and the second grant are overlapping. The method comprises pre-empting a transmission for the first grant based on prioritizing a transmission for the second grant. A RedCap indication is provided via the message 3 at least if a RedCap indication is not provided via the message 1. According to some embodiments, the wireless device receives an indication whether the wireless device is to provide a RedCap indication via the message 1, and the determination is based on the received indication. Method and apparatus for physical uplink shared channel format adaptation

In one embodiment, a method in a wireless device for adaptive HARQ retransmissions comprises receiving, from a network node, a request to initiate an adaptive hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) retransmission. The method comprises identifying a HARQ process associated with the HARQ retransmission request and determining whether a HARQ buffer of the HARQ process is empty. In response to determining that the HARQ buffer is empty, the method comprises not delivering the HARQ information to the HARQ process and not triggering an adaptive HARQ retransmission.

Back-off for 2-step RA procedure

A wireless device is configured to receive information from a network node. The information indicates whether or not a medium access control, MAC, service data unit, SDU, for a signaling radio bearer, SRB, or data radio bearer, DRB, is to be received by the wireless device in the same MAC protocol data unit, PDU, as a MAC PDU carrying a random access success response message. This random access success response message indicates both a random access channel and an uplink shared channel payload were decoded successfully. In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to receive a MAC PDU carrying the random access success response message, and to process the received MAC PDU based on the received information indicating whether a MAC SDU for an SRB or DRB is included in the received MAC PDU.

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for PUSCH resource selection in 2-step random access (RA). In one embodiment, a wireless device is configured to receive a two-step RA configuration having: a first resource allocation for a PUSCH transmission of a first message, msgA, of the two-step RA procedure, the first resource allocation for the PUSCH transmission of the msgA being associated with a first set of preambles; and a second resource allocation for the PUSCH transmission of the msgA associated with a second set of preambles; select one of the first and second resource allocation and the associated one of the first and second set of preambles based on the two-step RA configuration and a payload size of the PUSCH transmission of the msgA; and transmit the PUSCH transmission of the msgA using the selected one of the first and second resource allocation.

A method of a terminal device, comprising: determining a request message for random access, wherein the request message comprises a preamble and a physical uplink shared channel, PUSCH, message and the PUSCH message is determined based on a first radio network temporary identity, RNTI; transmitting the request message; and obtaining a response message for random access based on a second RNTI, wherein the first RNTI and the second RNTI are the same or different.

According to certain embodiments, a method for synchronous control of timing configurations includes operating a wireless device according to a first timing configuration associated with a first delay duration for transmitting feedback to a network node. A second timing configuration associated with a second delay duration for transmitting feedback to the network node is received from the network node. In response to a first downlink transmission from the network node, a first feedback is scheduled for transmission at a transmission time determined based on the second delay duration associated with the second timing configuration.

Systems and methods for synchronous control of HARQ configurations

According to an aspect, a UE in an uplink split-bearer configuration is configured to transmit PDUs by a first RLC entity via a first uplink transmission path and/or by a second RLC entity via a second uplink transmission path. The UE determines a total amount of data volume from PDCP data volume and RLC data volume pending for initial transmission in the two RLC entities. The UE decides whether submission of PDCP data volume is allowed to either of the two RLC entities or to only the first RLC entity, based on whether the total amount of data volume meets or exceeds a first threshold.
