Ways to mitigate problems caused by too narrow transmission zero (nulls) without significantly increasing computational complexity. For example, the problem can be mitigated by modifying MU-MIMO transmission schemes so that the nulls are widened. This way, the UEs that are to be protected from transmission interference stay within the nulls, despite the angular disturbances.

A method performed by a first network node of a wireless communication network for handling uplink signals sent by a UE. The wireless communication network comprises a serving network node responsible for transmitting downlink signals to the UE, and a non-serving network node capable of receiving uplink signals sent by the UE. Methods and network nodes in a wireless communication network for handling of uplink signals sent by a user equipment

A radio base station (RBS) and a method performed by an RBS for scheduling uplink resources to at least one UE are provided. The RBS comprises at least two receiving antenna branches and the RBS is operable in a radio communication network. The method comprises receiving transmissions from the at least one UE by means of the at least two receiving antenna branches; and determining at least one parameter relating to signal quality of the received transmissions. The method further comprises determining a diversity gain of the at least two receiving antenna branches, wherein the diversity gain is determined based on the determined parameter(s); and scheduling uplink transmissions for the at least one UE based on the determined diversity gain.

Radio base station and a method therein for scheduling uplink resources

A method for noise rise estimation in a wireless communication system comprises measuring () of received total wideband power of an antenna a plurality of times. An estimate of a noise floor measure is computed () based on at least a number of the measured received total wideband powers of the antenna. Interference whitening of a received signal is performed () per user for a multitude of users. A useful signal power per user after the interference whitening, preferably Frequency Domain Equalization, is determined (). A noise rise measure per user is calculated (), based at least on the useful signal power per user and the noise floor measure. The calculation in turn comprises compensation of the noise rise measure per user for the effects of the interference whitening. An arrangement for noise rise estimation is adapted for such a method. A radio base station comprises such an arrangement.

Load estimation in frequency domain pre-equalization systems

A method for equalizing a received radio signal in a WCDMA system, comprises receiving (), in a radio receiver, of a digital radio signal spread by scrambling codes. A channel estimation is performed () on the received digital radio signal for a plurality of channels. The received digital radio signal is in an equalizer equalized () into an equalized digital radio signal. This equalizing is performed by combining a plurality of part signals, deduced from the digital radio signal, with a respective delay and a respective combining weight. The equalizing () comprises provision of the combining weights based on a signal impairment matrix having elements compensated for systematic colouring caused by said scrambling codes.

The invention relates to the field of radio signal receivers for use in wireless communication networks. In particular to a receiver unit having at least one antenna input for receiving multipath radio signals via a radio unit and at least one antenna from one or more user equipments is provided. The receiver unit comprises: a despreading unit configured to despread a multipath radio signal in the received multipath radio signals using a number of despreading fingers corresponding to a number of delay positions in the multipath radio signal which corresponds to a number of paths in the multipath radio signal, and a combining unit configured to apply at least one weight to the output of each of the number of allocated despreading fingers and combine the weighted outputs into a resulting equalized radio signal. The receiver unit is characterized in that it is configured to calculate auto-correlation values based on all multipath radio signals received at the at least one antenna input, determine at least one auto-correlation value based on the calculated auto-correlation values, determine at least one time value based on the at least one determined auto-correlation value, and allocate at least one interference suppression finger to a delay position in the multipath radio signal based on the at least one determined time value. The invention further relates to a receiver, a network node and a method for suppressing interference in a received multipath radio signal in a receiver unit.

Receiver unit and method for suppressing interference in a multipath radio signal

The present invention is in general related to tracking of multiple targets by means of measurements by various sensors. In particular the invention provides procedures for track initiation during multiple target tracking by means of measurements from passive sensors. The invention defines a quality measure for each tentative new target, by which the tentative targets are sorted and selected. The calculation of the parameters of possible targets and their covariance are preferably performed in a recursive manner. The track initiation comprises the steps of creating strobe tracks, calculating strobe track crosses, selecting a strobe track cross as a probable target and creating a target track.
