A portable medical device for communication of medical data information has a medical device part that includes a first processor and first storage means, and means for executing one or more medical related functions, a communication device part comprising a second processor, second storage means, and communication means. The medical device part and the communication device part are connected allowing for exchange of data information according to a predetermined protocol. The exchange of communication may be under the control of the medical device part, but the functionalities of each device part otherwise is separated providing for easy interchangeability of the communication device part or the medical device part. Also disclosed is a method for communication of medical data information.

Portable device and method of communicating medical data information

A solid pharmaceutical composition for parenteral administration having an inner matrix containing at least one therapeutic agent, and a biodegradable, and water-impermeable coating covering part of the surface of said composition. The inner matrix disintegrates upon contact with animal tissue or tissue fluids. By providing a disintegratable and/or soluble inner matrix comprising the drug with a water-impermeable coating covering part of the surface of said composition, the rate of release of the drug can be controlled. The specific rate of release can be controlled by carefully designing the part of the surface which is not covered.

A method and a system is provided for producing a needle of plastic, as well as the needle of plastic which includes a needle for medical purposes. The method for producing the needle includes introducing a melt of plastic into a feed system, increasing the melt pressure gradually during melt passage through the feed system, passing the melt into the mould cavity, whereby the melt substantially fills the mould cavity, cooling the melt into the mould cavity whereby the melt solidifies to a needle, and removing the needle from the mould cavity. Increasing the pressure through the feed system provides for meeting specific pressure demands at the entrance of the mould cavity, thereby moulding thin and elongated articles.

Method and system for the production of a plastic needle

An injection device has signal generators (,) which are connected to operative elements (,) of the device and which give off signals which represents the operative condition of the device. The signals are sent to an electronic circuit which controls a presentation of the operational condition of the device and presents operational conditions, which are defined as not allowed, as error indications by switching off the display presenting the operational condition of the device. The number of signals from each generator is counted and a number of operations exceeding a pre-set number for the signal generator in question is interpreted as representing a not allowed operational condition.
