A disposable wearable absorbent article comprises a chassis having an absorbent core and first and second side panels extending transversally outwards towards respective outer edges. Each of the first and second side panels comprises a mechanical fastening material affixed to an outer end portion of the panel whereby, in use, the first and second side panels can extend around a user's waist to couple the first and second side panels to the chassis. Each of the side panels is gathered in a longitudinal direction to form at least one pleat extending in the transverse direction, and comprises a binding material affixed to respective side panels to maintain each of the first and second side panels in a gathered configuration. A method for forming disposable wearable absorbent articles is also disclosed.

A pack module includes a number of absorbent articles and at least one belt to which the absorbent articles can be releasably attached. The belt when placed in the pack module constitutes a gripping device which is intended to act on at least one of the articles and, at least partially, remove at least one absorbent article from the pack module when the gripping device is used. Removal of firmly compressed absorbent articles from a pack module without using additional material in the pack module is thus possible.

A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a wearer is provided. The method includes obtaining, by way of a mobile device, intake information indicative of intake of fluid and/or solid material by the wearer, obtaining, by way of the mobile device, voiding information indicative of urinary and/or faecal voiding by the wearer, predicting, based on the intake and voiding information, future voiding by the wearer, and providing, by way of the mobile device, product-related information based on the prediction. In this way, the product-wearer or his caregiver can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, for example recommendations on when to change the product.

Method and computer program for monitoring use of an absorbent product

A method for determining the location of a fecal insult, includes: detecting the concentration of at least one gas indicative of feces at a plurality of locations in a defined space; and determining whether said concentration of said gas exceeds a predetermined first threshold value. The method includes: detecting the concentration of hydrogen gas at each of said locations; detecting the concentration of at least one further gas component being indicative of feces in said space; and determining that a fecal insult has occurred in a location where said detected concentration of hydrogen gas exceeds said first threshold value, provided that the detected concentration of said further gas component also exceeds a predetermined second threshold value in said location.

An absorbent article, such as a diaper, a pant diaper, a sanitary napkin, an incontinence guard etc., includes components that are joined together by a bonding pattern. A method for manufacturing an absorbent hygiene article having a plurality of components that are joined together during the manufacturing process. Thermochromic fibres are incorporated in a component web, component or a selected area thereof, said thermochromic fibres being adapted to change colour between a contrasting colour to a less contrasting colour. A colour change of said thermochromic fibres is induced during one step of the manufacturing process and the presence of the thermochromic fibres being in their contrasting state is detected by a detection means. A measure in the process control is actuated in response to the detected presence of thermochromic fibres in their contrasting state.
