The disclosure describes an inhaler having a dosing chamber in which medicament is aerosolized with a vibrator piezoelectric transducer. A spacer is provided between a face of the transducer and a wall of the dosing chamber.

Inhalation device

The present disclosure provides a method and device for delivering a pharmaceutical to the airway of a human or animal patient. In one aspect, the device includes a dose drum formed into a cylinder and including a plurality of dose compartments for containing individual doses. In another aspect, the device may include a reservoir containing a pharmaceutical material in bulk form and a metering recess for metering the pharmaceutical material to form a pharmaceutical dose. Another aspect provides an inhaler with a combined reservoir and dosing chamber configured to contain multiple doses of a pharmaceutical material.

Inhalation device and method

A medicament delivery device comprises a dosing chamber configured to contain dry powder medicament, a transducer and a controller electrically coupled to the transducer. The medicament delivery device is capable of delivering a therapeutically effective dose of dry powder medicament in response to between 2-20 tidal inhalations, the dose preferably having a mass median aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) of about 6 microns or less and a fine particle fraction of at least 30%.

A dry inhaler system includes a vibrating mechanism. A supply of a dry powder is operatively coupled to the vibrating mechanism. A power source communicates with the vibrating mechanism. A sensor communicates with the vibrating mechanism. A feedback control communicates with the sensor and the power source. The feedback control controls power delivered to the vibrating mechanism relative to information provided by the sensor about the performance of the vibrating mechanism.

An apparatus for supporting a load comprises a pivot apparatus coupled to the load and movable with the load; and a base stationary relative to the pivot apparatus. At least two areas of support are situated between the pivot apparatus and the base. Respectively opposite force components are at the two areas of support. The two areas of support move along a one curved path to tilt the load.

Wrist joint for positioning a test head

A positioner, such as a test head carrier for a semiconductor wafer and device tester, includes a vertical support and a main arm for supporting a test head. The main arm is suspended for vernier movement by use of a counterbalancing force such as counterweights. The suspension of the main arm is performed at a mechanical advantage so that reduced counter-blancing force and correspondingly large movements on the counterblance side are used to effect the vernier movement. The vertical support may be adjusted with a non-compliant drive such as a ball screw mechanism. The vernier movement can also be used to sense collisions and other positioning errors and actuation of the drive for the vertical support can be controlled accordingly.

Counter balanced vertical docking motion in a driven vertical axis test head manipulator

A load, such as an electronic test head, is supported. A force sensor detects a force received from the load, the force resulting from the load being imbalanced such that a torque is created about a rotational axis of the load. A source of force provides a counter force relative to the load in response to the force detected by the force sensor. A method of docking an electronic test head held in a test head manipulator to an electronic device handler is also provided. The method of docking includes measuring a magnitude of an imbalance force along or about at least one of a plurality of motion axes of the test head manipulator; and providing a counter force to the imbalance force.

A load, such as an electronic test head, is supported.
