Use of a nicotine-cellulose combination for the preparation of a snuff composition for achievement of a fast onset of action of nicotine after application of the snuff composition to the oral cavity of a subject, wherein the composition has a high release rate so that when subjected to an in vitro dissolution test about 45% or more of the total content of nicotine is released within 30 minutes. Moreover, the invention relates to an improved snuff composition for application to the oral cavity.

Snuff composition

The present application provides compositions that are provided within a semi-permeable membrane. The compositions can include a particulate material, such as a cellulose, a sugar alcohol, and nicotine. The composition can provide a fast onset of action of the nicotine in the mouth of a user. In particular, when subjected to an in vitro dissolution test using UV detection, about 30% or more of the total content of the nicotine is released from the composition within 30 minutes.

Compositions for buccal administration

Novel pharmaceutical compositions of mometasone or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivate thereof in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion, notably a cream. The composition has excellent stability and therapeutic effect. The compositions contain mometasone in micronised form, propylene glycol and water and the weight ratio between the propylene glycol and water contained in the oil-in-water emulsion is from 1:1 to about 1:3.

A nicotine-containing particulate material for release of nicotine, the material comprising a combination of nicotine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, complex or solvate thereof and a microcrystalline cellulose, The particulate material is stable upon storage and releases nicotine relatively fast. The particulate material can be used in the manufacture of nicotine-containing pharmaceutical composition, wherein the release of nicotine can be designed to be relatively fast so as to obtain a fast onset of action.

Device and method for the administration of a substance

The invention refers to a process for the preparation of a self-dispersing or self-emulsifying tablet, wherein a heated granulation mixture containing an active lipophilic substance and a surfactant is granulated into granules, said granules are cooled to a semi-solid state, said semi-solid granules are mixed with one or more fillers to cover the surface of the granules, distribution, the sieved granules are mixed with tabletting aids, and said mixture is compressed into tablets. The granulation mixture can also contain a lipid and/or filler. The invention also refers to tablets prepared by said processes.

Dysglucaemia is treated and/or prevented by the administration of granulated starch, enzymatically degraded and releasing reducing sugars at a rate, adjusted to the metabolism of the patient, suffering from dysglucaemia. For example nocturnal hypoglycaemia in diabetic patients is prevented by administering to said patients a granulate or tablets comprising granulated cornstarch, and preferably also heat treated cornstarch and a low calorie sweetener. The inventive granulation minimizes the available surface area and retards the enzymatic degradation of the cornstarch and ensures a controlled, e.g. a substantially linear release of reducing sugars, such as glucose, and a stable blood glucose level during several hours. The granulate or tablets are low in calories and contain no free sugar.

Composition and method for the treatment of dysglucaemia
