Laundry detergent dispensing device

A device comprising unoccluded vents and containing a detergent is employed. This device is placed with fabrics to be washed in the drum of a washing machine and the machine is started up, allowing the washing cycle to proceed. A detergent composition some of whose constituents are separate is employed and at least one of the constituents is introduced into the device and at least one other of the constituents is associated separately with the said device, so that during the washing all the constituents diffuse into the fabrics and the washing bath.

Process for washing fabrics in a machine

The invention is a single use container having an outer enclosure and an inner compartment isolated therefrom and is advantageous for the machine washing of laundry using detergent compositions having mutually incompatible constituents. Through an opening, the inner compartment receives a constituent of a detergent composition, such as a peroxidic additive. The outer enclosure receives another constituent of the detergent composition through a separate opening. For storage and for sale, a hood crowns the upper part of the container sealing the openings of the enclosure and compartment, thereby isolating the constituents of the enclosure and compartment. With the hood removed, the container is inserted into the drum of a washing machine. Simultaneous and gradual release of the constituents within the enclosure and compartment occurs during the washing operation.

Multiple compartment container

A container containing a predetermined quantity of incompatible detergent compositions is introduced into the drum of a machine for washing laundry. The container comprises compartments which separately receive the constituents of the detergent compositions which are mutually incompatible, for example, the constituents which release active oxygen or chlorine and the remainder of the detergent compositions are separated. Each of the compartments has openings for permitting its contents to diffuse into the washing machine during the washing process.

Multiple compartment container laundering method

The device incorporates a body (41) and a cover-assembly (42). The latter has vents (47) and can be screwed onto the body (41). In use, with the cover (42) removed, the body (41) is filled through the opening (44) with liquid detergent up to the chosen level A or B. The cover (42) is then fixed and then the device is introduced into the drum of the machine where the linen is already present. During washing, the detergent is gradually distributed outwards by passing through the vents (47).
